It didn’t take long for the politically astute George Clooney to fire away at Donald Trump as he seems to lock up the Republican presidential nomination.

While doing press for his latest movie “Money Monster” (opening Friday) at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, where the film screened out of competition, Clooney didn’t hold back on his thoughts about the presumptive nominee, according to Deadline.

"There is not gonna be a President Donald Trump,” Clooney said. “It’s not gonna happen. Fear is not going to be something that drives our country. We’re not going to be scared of Muslims or immigrants or women. We’re not actually afraid of anything so we are not going to use fear. It’s not going to be an issue.”

Clooney and his wife, international human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, have not been shy about who they're supporting in the election. They hosted a fundraiser for Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton in Hollywood earlier this year.

R&B singer LeToya Luckett plans to step into the shoes of one of music’s pioneers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former Destiny’s Child member will play Dionne Warwick in the forthcoming biopic, Dionne.

During an event in Cannes on Friday (May 13), Warwick shared her elation in casting the “Torn” artist to play her younger self. “She is perfect and she has exactly the right look,” Warwick said. “She will bring out what is needed for this part.”

The “I Say A Little Prayer” singer also revealed that Mario Van Peebles might take on the reigns as director for the project. There’s no word on a release date just yet, but reports also stated that Lady Gaga, who was originally selected to come on board as Warwick’s adversary Cilla Black, will no longer be a part of the production.

Kobe Bryant’s legacy will now live on through his very popular nickname, Black Mamba. The retired Los Angeles Laker basketball star is set to trademark the name through his company Kobe Inc., reports ESPN.

The company filed the trademark on May 2, according to a record from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Bryant made this decision in efforts to use the nickname on different types of merchandise, including sneakers and athletic apparel.

Initially, Bryant named himself in honor of the venomous snake from Africa with the same name from the main character in the movie Kill Bill. “I read up on the animal and said, ‘Wow, this is pretty awesome,'” Bryant told The New Yorker back in 2014. “This is the perfect description of how I would want my game to be.”

BBB NEWS| Diezani’s N23billion: EFCC Traces N15billion To Ex-ministers, Others

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has located the whereabouts of  N15billion of the N23.29billion ($115m)  allegedly offered as a bribe by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)  in connection with the 2015 elections.

The bribe was for the purpose of compromising the result of the elections which the party’s presidential candidate Dr. Goodluck Jonathan lost to Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fourteen directors of four oil firms suspected of substantially bankrolling the N23.29b poll bribery scandal have also been identified by the anti-graft agency while some former Ministers arrested in connection with the scandal were battling for bail last night.

They are: former Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nurudeen Muhammad (N 500,000,000) and ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs in the last dispensation, Ambassador Aminu Bashir Wali (N 950,000,000).
