January 16 marks the day that one of music’s most influential artists was born. Aaliyah Dana Haughton would later grow up to be an icon across all genres of music, and leave a lasting imprint on the film scene.

In memory of her birthday, one of the “4 Page Letter” singer’s closest collaborators, Missy Elliott, commemorates her special day.

Taking to Twitter Saturday afternoon, the award-winning rapper said, “Aaliyah your heart was so huge and you loved your fans and always wanted them to know that!”

With Christmas literally around the corner, the Grammy-award winning beat maker is feeling generous, and announced the track listing for his forthcoming free project King Stays King.

Due out Christmas day, the 18-track mixtape features collaborations from Mila J, Tink, Migos, Rich Homie Quan, Just Blaze and of course, Aaliyah.

The new tape is just an appetizer before Timb blesses fans with the full musical meal TEXTBOOK TIMBO due out early 2016.

On the 14th anniversary of the sudden and tragic passing of Aaliyah, friends, family and fans share their remarks and memories about the beloved singer who died in a plane crash in 2001.

As her closest collaborators Timbaland and Missy Elliott share messages of love on social media, one person who never got to work with Aaliyah also had a message: Janet Jackson.

Taking to Twitter with a handwritten note, Jackson penned a short and sweet tribute to the fallen star:

With unofficial tracks from the late R&B idol Aaliyah released last year, including the Drake-assisted “Enough Said,” and “Quit Hatin,” fans of the famed vocalist have been dying for a CDQ-single from within her vault.

Well, it looks like our prayers have been answered and it’s all thanks to Timbaland.

Aaliyah’s producer-in-crime took to his Instagram account to reveal that he does own unreleased music from the “One In A Million” singer. “Attention!!!!! People ask me all the time do I have any babegirl music we haven’t heard !!!!!well the answer is YES!!!!!!!! TIMBO x BABEGIRL !!!!! Sneak peak coming !!!!!!!” he typed on his social media account.
