Former Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson made things thoroughly awkward when he let out the real reason why he’s supporting Donald Trump for president.

In an interview on The Steve Malzberg Show on Monday, the neurosurgeon explained he wanted to endorse another candidate but was unable to due to the “the politics of personal destruction.”

“I have to look at what is practical and what is going to save this country and the American dream for the next generation,” Carson said. “Is there another scenario that I would have preferred? Yes. But that scenario isn’t available.” The other candidates in questioned happened to be Sen. Marco Rubio and Gov. John Kasich but decided to side with Trump, even if it means he doesn’t believe in Trump’s agenda.

Ben Carson has been on the campaign trail for sometime in hopes to secure voters, and on Thursday (November 5) decided to appeal to young black voters by releasing a 60-second rap ad.

The lyrics “Yeah! Vote. Inspire. Vote! Inspire,” lay on top a bass along with a light flute, followed by snippets of the former neurosurgeon’s speeches promoting his agenda for a new America.

The ad buy, titled “Freedom” will run for two weeks in Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Detroit, Birmingham, Alabama, Jackson, Mississippi, Memphis, Tennessee and Little Rock and Arkansas.

Along with Carson dropping his “hot 16,” rapper Aspiring Mogul is also featured on the ad.

“America became a great nation early on not because it was flooded with politicians but because it was flooded with people who understood the value of personal responsibility, hard work, innovation and that’s what will get us on the right track now,” Carson says on the track.
