Replacing every mention of God’s name in the book of Genesis with that of Mr. West, this $20 publication, The Book of Yeezus is up for grabs on Etsy. In an attempt to make a version of the Bible that appeals to “modern society,” the new book is handmade, made-to-order and was inspired by the question, “What if?”
In an excerpt from the Book of Yeezus Etsy page, its creators explain their (slightly ridiculous, borderline offensive) creation:
What if the Bible, the most singularly significant publication in the ancient canon of Western tradition, were updated to reflect our modern society? What would it look like? What we came up with was an interventionist art, coffee-table novelty, that will appeal to both Kanye fans everywhere and those made curious by this enormous cultural phenomenon.
