At 8 am local time, two blasts went off at Zaventem airport, killing 11 and injuring 81, according to the Belgian health minister.
An hour after the airport explosions, the Maelbeek metro station was attacked, killing at least 20 and injuring over 100.
However, the mayor of Brussels, Yvan Mayeur, said it is “too early to say exactly what the number of victims will be.”
At least one explosion at the airport was caused by a suicide attack, according to latest reports.
