Aubrey’s 2016 is shaping up to be quite a successful year. After the release of his highly-anticipated LP Views, the 29 year old achieved another milestone by making a first-time appearance on Forbes’ five wealthiest hip-hop artist list.

Released Wednesday, (May 4) the list, which is comprised of the usual suspects Sean P.Diddy Combs, Dr. Dre, Jay Z Birdman and 50 Cent, welcomed Drake after 50 Cent’s legal woes last year caused him to file for bankruptcy, resulting him being booted off the list.

While the “One Dance” artist who’s $60 million fortune is a far cry from Diddy’s $750 million fortune, Drake has proven his business acumen is indeed lit, securing partnerships with Nike, Sprite, Apple Music as well as his sold-out tours.

It’s that time of the year again, folks! Forbes has released their annual list for the 2015 Hip-Hop Cash Kings, and we finally have a new name in the top 5! Welcome, Drizzy Drake!

For those unfamiliar, Forbes ranks hip-hop’s biggest earners based on the income they made from June of last year to June of this year. Per Forbes:

    “We consider pretax income from touring, record sales, streaming, publishing, merchandise sales, endorsements and other business ventures. Management, agent and attorney fees are not deducted. Earnings are calculated from June 2014 to June 2015 and based on data from Nielsen SoundScan, Pollstar, the RIAA and from interviews with managers, lawyers, executives and a handful of the artists themselves.”

Calvin Harris is more than just Mr. Taylor Swift. The 31-year old Scot is the highest paid DJ in the world and it isn’t even close. (pictured above) Calvin Harris and David Guetta.

According to Forbes, Harris will pull in $66 million in 2015 for spinning records (and also endorsing brands such as Giorgio Armani).

That almost doubles French DJ vet David Guetta, who pulled in $37 million to place second on the financial mag’s list.

In today’s edition of “Lemme Hold A Dollar” news, Forbes rolled out their annual Highest Paid Celebrity list, and to the surprise of no one, Floyd ‘Money Mayweather’ and Katy Perry had prime real estate with the number one and number three spots respectively.

The 38-year-old undefeated boxer earned $300 million this year, the highest payday for any athlete. Mayweather’s earnings almost doubled Tiger Woods’ 2008 record when the pro-golfer earned $115 million. Mayweather’s historic–yet lackluster fight–against Manny Pacquiao crushed several boxing records including sponsorship, and Pay Per View buys.

And while the ‘Roar’ singer took home $135 million mostly due to her Prismatic World Tour, which grossed about $2 million per city over 126 cities, the 30-year-old entertainer also has side hustles with CoverGirl, Moschino and Adidas, which helped add to her swagged out bank account.

It’s that time of year again. Forbes presents hip-hop’s wealthiest artists/businessmen. And 2015’s coveted roster includes the likes of: Dr.Dre, 5O Cent, Jay Z, Birdman and Diddy.

There was a lot of talk last year stipulating that Dr.Dre was the wealthiest man in the hip-hop industry when he sold his Beats By Dre headphone empire to Apple for a whopping $3 billion. After taxes however, the mogul rounded up a $700 million dollar net worth—making Diddy the richest man in hip-hop with a cool $735 million in his bank account.

With a slew of business ventures including: clothing lines Enyce and Sean John, multimedia network Revolt, alkaline water brand AQUAhydrate and a new tequila called DeLeon, it’s no surprise Mr. Combs took all the cake home this year.

“Sean has been aggressive in being sure that we put the power of the platform in the hands of musicians to be able to create with fans in their authentic voice,” said Revolt’s chief executive Keith Clinkscales.“Revolt got built out of the frustration Sean was having with music media being able to get his albums out there.”
