The actor was given the title of an “honorary Black man” by his Django co-star, Jamie Foxx. Speaking with TMZ at LAX Monday afternoon (Feb. 29), the actor gave props to host Chris Rock and gave DiCaprio the title claiming “he’s as close to Tyrone as you can get.”
“My man Leo, come on man,” Foxx said. “You wanna talk about an honorary Black dude. Come on over Leo! You’re an honorary Black man. In Titanic he drowned, you know Black dudes can’t swim in the ocean.”
After two decades in Hollywood, the actor finally won his first leading actor Oscar for his role in The Revenant Sunday evening (Feb. 28).
