During an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Lean On Me actor was asked about the sound of his voice and what his thoughts are on how people have dubbed it “the voice of god.” Freeman simply praised his acting school instructor for the assistance.

“In that school, Los Angeles City College, I had a voice and diction instructor who was very good at his job,” he told the late night television host. “So you had to learn to speak and sound your vital consonants.” Ahead of his latest film’s premiere, London Has Fallen, Freeman will lend his vocal chords to another program. And yes, you guessed it.

It’s just been announced that the Shawshank Redemption actor is teaming up with Google’s free navigation app Waze, which means now Freeman can direct us to the nearest Starbucks, or Hookah Bar or how to get home in the morning from that thing that went past third base with that musician guy.

E’dena Hines, the step-granddaughter of Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman, was stabbed to death early Sunday morning (August 16), according to reports.

The 33-year-old was found lying in the street outside of her New York apartment at about 3am where she suffered from multiple stab wounds to her torso.

A 30-year-old man was taken into custody by police at the scene and then taken to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.

In a statement, Freeman reflected on his granddaughter’s life, referring to her as a star.

    The world will never know her artistry and talent, and how much she had to offer,” he said. “Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person.

In case you weren’t aware, Morgan Freeman is a proponent of marijuana. Turning to cannabis as a way to cope with the pain of injuries suffered during a car accident in 2008, the celebrated actor praised its effects. In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Freeman details how he was introduced to weed.

“My first wife got me into it many years ago,” he said. “How do I take it? However it comes! I’ll eat it, drink it, smoke it, snort it! This movement is really a long time coming, and it’s getting legs—longer legs. Now, the thrust is understanding that alcohol has no real medicinal use. Maybe if you have one drink it’ll quiet you down, but two or three and you’re fucked.”

Comparing the effects of marijuana to that of alcohol, Freeman called for the legalization of weed with anecdotes from Woodstock. He also noted the medicinal benefits as an argument for making it more available to the masses.
