The immediate past Nigeria's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and founding member of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida today dumped the party.

Tafida, who headed victorious former President Goodluck Jonathan's presidential campaign in 2011,  said, PDP market in Nigeria's politics is over, and no sensible man will remain in a market that has closed shop.

#BBB NEWS| How I Shared The N63m I Collected From Tony Anenih – Yakassai

Northern leader and ex-special assistant to former President Shehu Shagari, Tanko Yakassai, has agreed that he actually collected the sum of N63 million from former Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Tony Anenih.

He however said the money was delivered to some prominent Nigerians who went about meeting traditional rulers in the northern part of Nigeria trying to sway their thoughts to ensure “peaceful co-existence” and mobilise their subjects for the 2015 general elections.

The amount was part of the $2.1 billion meant for the purchase of arms to execute the war against insurgency but which was shared among top Nigerians and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

In an interview last week, Yakassai, known for his usual criticism of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, said his support for former President Goodluck Jonathan had nothing to do with political party but the need to ensure equity and foster co-existence.

#BBB NEWS| Media Chat: Buhari Is A Tyrant, Says PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party alleged on Thursday that President Muhammadu Buhari’s responses at the Wednesday Presidential Media Chat were not only embarrassing but also further exposed his undemocratic character as an unrepentant tyrant who has no regard for the rule of law and the self-worth of Nigerian citizens.

The party, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh in Abuja, also said the President confirmed his alleged partisanship in the much-vaunted war against corruption by openly absolving his ministers and party members of corrupt practices.

Metuh said the President’s attitude showed his true colours as unrepentant dictator.

He also said it was wrong for the President to have condemned those undergoing trial for alleged corruption.

He said, “Whilst we restate our respect for the person and office of the President, we note that President Buhari bared his true colours to the world as an unrepentant tyrant.
