#BBB NEWS| Former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu Defects To APC

Former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Mr. Kalu, who is facing trial by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over a N3.2b fraud, was received at the APC headquarters in Abuja. APC National Chairman John Odige-Oyegun and members of the National Working Committee officially welcomed the former governor to the party.

According to Mr. Kalu, APC chieftains had been courting him for some time. He said they invited him to dinner at least twenty times.

“They had been on my neck, asking that I must come over to APC,” Mr. Kalu said. “The national chairman always buys me red wine.”

Godwin Obaseki, the All Progressives Congress (APC) party candidate in the gubernatorial election in Edo State, has won the contest in the two-way race with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), winning most of the votes.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu of the PDP came second in the votes collated and announced by INEC.

#BBB NEWS| Mimiko Lavishes N325 Million On PDP Members According To Ondo State APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State accused embattled Governor Olusegun Mimiko of planning to lavish the sum of N325 million in Christmas gifts on members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the State.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Publicity Secretary of the APC, Omo'ba Abayomi Adesanya, alleged that the Mimiko-led government in the State organized "yet another wicked" plan to squander more funds on “frivolities”.

In the statement, exclusively obtained by a SahaRareporters correspondent in Akure, Omo'ba Adesanya, bemoaned the difficulties faced by workers and some senior citizens in the State as a result of unpaid salaries, gratuities, and allowances for over three months.

#BBB NEWS| Over 1,000 Defect From APC To PDP In Bayelsa

Ahead of the governorship election in Bayelsa State, no fewer than 1,000 members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The defecting members, comprising 800 delegates at the APC governorship primary election held on August 22 and August 29 declared for the PDP at a ceremony which took place at Peace Park, Yenagoa, yesterday.

The defectors were led into the Peace Park venue by two prominent members of the APC, Senator John Brambaifa and Mr. Alex Ekiotenne.

They were received at the venue by Governor Seriake Dickson; Deputy National Chairman, PDP, South-South, Mr. Cairo Ojuigbo; Acting State Chairman, PDP, Mr. Serena Dokubo-Spiff; Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral John Jonah (retd.), among other PDP leaders.

#BBB NEWS| Ondo APC To EFCC: Investigate Mimiko’s Financial Misappropriation Of State Account

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has raised alarm for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the financial record of the State under Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

The Party said there was urgent need for the anti-graft agency to visit the State and inspect the misappropriation of funds and corruption being orchestrated by the Mimiko led government.

It further disclosed that this was a sequel to the shocking revelation by the former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of Economy, Ngozi Okojo-Iweala

Okonjo-Iweala had said that between 2011 and 2014 Ondo State received N81.7 billion from the excess crude account; non-accountability of Local Government funds; 13% oil derivation funds for the oil producing area of the State - Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC).

#BBB NEWS| Senator Saraki 'Elected' Senate President While APC Senators Were Meeting With Buhari

Senator Bukola Saraki, backed by minority senators of the All Progressives Congress and those of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who earlier endorsed him today "emerged" as the President of the Senate. Source learnt 57 senators were present at today's meeting at the National Assembly.

The "election" was presided over by the Clerk of the National Assembly.The election held was majority of his party members were meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the International Conference Center in Abuja, a meeting Saraki shunned.

The Kwara state senator led a group of renegade senators from the ruling All Progressives Congress in a revolt against the party hierarchy which had chosen a different candidate for the office of Senate president.

#BBB NEWS| APC Denies Zoning Senate President to North-Central

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied a report that its National Working Committee (NWC) met on Monday night and decided to zone the presidency of the Senate to Nigeria’s north central zone and the Speaker of the House of Representatives to the southwest.

In a statement released today, the party said nothing of the sort reported by some media happened.

The statement, which was issued in Abuja by the APC’s national secretary, Mai Mala Buni, disclosed that the party was deeply embarrassed by the report. It speculated that the report was apparently planted in the media to sow the seeds of instability in the party.

“The NWC never discussed the issue of zoning at its meeting,” the statement remarked. It added, “Therefore, the report of its decision on zoning is a figment of the imagination of whoever concocted the story.”

#BBB NEWS| Former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair To Speak at APC Policy Forum

The All Progressives Congress is set to hold a two-day forum to unveil the policy plan of the incoming Muhammadu Buhari administration.

According to a statement by the party, a former British Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Blair, will be the keynote speaker at the dialogue where input for the actualisation of the policies of the incoming administration would be made by experts drawn from different fields and members of the public.

The policy dialogue themed, “Implementing Change: From Vision to Reality,” and organised by the Policy, Research and Strategy Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council would hold in Abuja on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Deputy Head of the Directorate and a former Minister of Youth and Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the President-elect Muhammadu Buhari, would declare open the dialogue which would be chaired by Vice-President-elect, Prof. Yemi Osibajo (SAN).

The All Progressives Congress on Monday said only those who are guilty of crimes against the Nigerian people need to be afraid of the incoming administration.

It assured Nigerians that the incoming Buhari administration will not persecute anyone, contrary to statements credited to President Goodluck Jonathan.

This was contained in a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

APC said, “Those who have played poker with the nation’s destiny must be willing and eager to clear their conscience before man and God.

“That the President-elect is a man of integrity is not an issue for debate, and he has made it clear that he will not be bogged down by endless probes.

“However, the hands of the incoming government will not be tied by those who have chosen to play the victim and exhibit a persecution mentality.

#BBB NEWS| APC Accuses Jonathan’s Govt Of Hindering Smooth Transition Of Power

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the JonathanAdministration of plotting to hinder a smooth handover of power on May29th, as it is becoming apparent that the Administration will not fully cooperate with the incoming government, despite its public posturing in that regard.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party also described as an act of hostility and a patently-misplaced aggression the unnecessary vituperation against the incoming Buhari Administration by the Jonathan government, ostensibly because of the terms of reference of the Buhari Transition Committee but in reality part of an orchestrated plot to sabotage the transition.

It rejected the continued blackmail by the Jonathan Administration as a result of President Jonathan’s concession of defeat, wondering whether the concession, gracious as it was, has now become a shield for all wrong doings.

#BBB NEWS| READ: Governor Fayose Issues Statement On Reporting APC To AU and UN

The governor of Ekiti State Ayodele Fayose has announced that he will be reporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU) due to their alleged reign of impunity in Ekiti State. He also said in a public statement that the threat from the APC is making Ekiti State ungovernable.

Governor Fayose has been confronted with political unrest in Ekiti State, with outgoing members of the APC making last minute attempts to impeach him for his involvement with rigging the presidential, gubernatorial, and State elections. APC leaders have also stated that he has wrongfully used the military and State Security Services to intimidate Ekiti citizens and voters.

Ayodele Fayose stated that all of Nigeria watched him defeat an incumbent governor in all 16 Local Government Areas, and that wrongful attempts to prevent him from governing are being made by APC before May 29th. May 29th marks the day when the APC will lose its majority seats in the Ekiti State Assembly.

#BBB NEWS| APC Asks ICC, NHRC To Prosecute Fayose

The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has urged the National Human Rights Commission and the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Holland, to prosecute Governor Ayodele Fayose.

The party accused the governor of making inciting broadcast on the state radio and television by urging his supporters into “an act of rage and violence” to attack the 19 APC lawmakers in the Ekiti State House of Assembly thus preventing the lawmakers from performing their constitutional duties.

The APC said the statement by Fayose had threatened the peace of the state in the past few days.

But the governor dismissed the call by the APC as coming from a group of people that lacked decorum.

The APC Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatubosun, in a statement on Tuesday, said the call to the ICC and NHRC became imperative because of the death of one person recorded in Efon Alaaye and the near collapse of the peace after the governor’s live broadcast.

#BBB NEWS| APC Rejects May 28 Handover Date | PUNCH

There are indications that the All Progressives Congress is uncomfortable with the May 28 handover date proposed by the out-going administration.

Investigation by Saturday PUNCH revealed that the outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan and the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) are set to clash over a proposal by the Jonathan team to hand over the mantle of leadership to Buhari on May the 28th, instead of the 29th.

Saturday PUNCH gathered that the Buhari team was already over what they considered as an act of ill-will laced with sinister motives.

This is sequel to an announcement by the Minister of Information, Senator Patricia Akwashiki, that President Jonathan would perform the handover ceremony at a dinner on May 28.

Akwashiki made the announcement after Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting.

#BBB NEWS| APC Wins In 13 States, PDP Victorious In Four [PHOTO]

Winners of Saturday’s governorship election began to emerge on Sunday afternoon with the All Progressives Congress topping the Peoples Democratic Party in the results so far released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

There were however still pockets of protests and killings in a few states even as the results were being announced and collation taking place in many other states.

The first to be officially announced victorious was Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, who defeated PDP’s Ganiyu Isiaka. Amosun of the APC is therefore set for a second term in office.

The Gboyega Nasir Isiaka Campaign Organisation rejected the result of the governorship poll, saying it was “unfortunate and a travesty staged to help the APC achieve victory.”

It claimed that the outcome of the election   was clearly not a true reflection of Ogun people’s wish and said that the result would be challenged as appropriate.

#BBB NEWS| Lagos House Of Assembly Elections: Desmond Elliot, Lai Mohammed’s Son, Others Declared Winners As Sons Of Obanikoro, Ajomale Lose

Nollywood star, Desmond Elliot, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday polled 23,141 votes at the Surulere state constituency l to emerge winner.

Mr Bayo Smith, of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 12,546 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Dr Mariam Quadri, made the declaration at Surulere Collation Centre.

”That Desmond Olusola Elliot of APC having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared winner and is returned elected, ” she said.

For Surulere Constituency ll, the Returning Officer, Quadri,  declared Mrs Mosunmola Sangodara-Rotimi of PDP winner with 33, 583 votes closely trailed by Mr Abiodun Awobotu of  APC with 32, 767votes.

#BBB NEWS| Nasir El Rufai Of APC Wins Kaduna Guber By A Landslide

Former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nasir El Rufai has won the gubernatorial election held on Saturday in Kaduna state by a landslide based on 80% results from polling units across the state.

The diminutive former minister defeated the incumbent governor of Kaduna state, Ramalan Yero, by a wide margin in most of the 23 local government areas of the state. El Rufai is leading Mr. Yero by at least 500,000 votes.

Election results obtained by SaharaReporters shows that El Rufai has obtained 725,293 as opposed to Yero's 242,392.

With over 90% of votes collated across Lagos state, BBB can conclusively state that Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won majority of votes cast during Saturday's gubernatorial election in Lagos state.

Mr. Ambode defeated Jimi Agbaje of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to become Governor-elect.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will announce final official results later today.

#BBB NEWS| I Wasn’t In Lagos To Rig Election, Jonathan Replies APC

President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday dismissed claim by the All Progressives Congress that his Thursday’s visit to Lagos was to coordinate rigging plans for the Peoples Democratic Party in today’s governorship election.

He wondered why he would rig the governorship election for the PDP when he did not rig the March 28 presidential election in which he was a candidate.

Jonathan’s position was contained in a statement made available to journalists by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati.

Abati said there was nothing unusual in people paying homage to the President when he is on a visit to Lagos or any other part of the country.

#BBB NEWS| Governorship Election: APC Exposes PDP's Rigging Plan For Lagos, Questions Jonathan's Commitment To Credible Polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed the PDP over its desperation to capture Lagos State at all cost, including using fake result sheets that have been flown in from Abuja for Saturday's elections, warning that the people will resist any attempt to rob them of their votes.

In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the rigging plans are being led by President Goodluck Jonathan, who has already flown into Lagos where he held a meeting with his point men, including Musiliu Obanikoro, Jimi Agbaje and GaniAdams.

It said that before the meeting, eagle-eyed Nigerians who are appalled by the PDP's rigging plans have widely circulated on social media the details of the planned electoral malfeasance, including the airlifting from Abuja to Lagos of a Black Kia Mohave SUV, with plate number DHQ 340, which was packed with election materials (especially result sheets).

#BBB NEWS| Push APC Into Atlantic Ocean, Agbaje Tells Igbo

The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has urged Igbo across the state to push the All Progressives Congress ‘into the lagoon’ by voting for him on Saturday.

Agbaje said this while addressing Igbo traders at the Alaba International Market on Thursday.

The PDP candidate urged them to ignore the threats made by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, that if they do not vote for the APC governorship candidate on Saturday, they would die in the lagoon.

“Nobody can push you into the Atlantic Ocean. Rather, you should use your votes to push the APC into the Atlantic Ocean by voting massively for the PDP on Saturday,” Agbaje said.

He urged the people to ignore the scare tactics being marshalled by the APC, saying, it was the antics of a drowning party.
