Snoop Dogg has always mixed his affinity for sports with his love for music. Now, The Doggfather will tackle his biggest challenge yet in the sports world as the celebrity commissioner for the Champions Basketball League.

“Snoop Dogg is at the forefront of pop culture and loved by millions across the globe, and has sold nearly 40 million records worldwide,” Carl George, CEO of Champions Basketball League, says in a statement. “For decades he has been an innovator with award winning albums, multiple films, lifestyle products, philanthropic efforts, TV shows and digital ventures — and we are thrilled that he will bring this depth to the League as we launch this summer.”

Adds Snoop Dogg: “Champions Basketball League is a sports innovation for fans. Champions provides exclusive and affordable access to world class basketball for fans. #BBB NEWS| Nike Creates A Hijab That Caters To Muslim Women In Sports [PHOTO/VIDEO]

Nike has recently created a prototype hijab especially made for Muslim athletes, reports CNN Money.

The design will officially make its debut in Spring 2018. The head covering tilted “Nike Pro-Hijab” is made up of a single layer pull of lightweight polyester in dark colors. Additionally, the fabric will have tiny holes, a requirement for hijabs.

According to Nike, the hijab has already been tested out by Emirate figure skater Zahra Lari. “I was thrilled and a bit emotional to see Nike prototyping a Hijab,” Lari said in a statement. “I’ve tried so many different hijabs for performance, and … so few of them actually work for me. But once I put it on and took it for a spin on the ice, I was blown away by the fit and the light weight.”

On Friday (Dec. 30) Amanda Nunes took on and took out Ronda Rousey in a stunning 48-second span to secure the women’s bantamweight title, before a sold-out crowd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After an upset against Holly Holm in the second round at UFC 193 in November 2015, Rousey believed she was ready to make a strong comeback against Nunes but unfortunately fell short. Rousey, who was 12-2 prior to her back-to-back defeats, reconsiders her future in the sport as she recently broke her silence with a statement issued to ESPN:

#BBB NEWS| World’s Best Female Gymnast Simone Biles Wins Pacific Rim All-Around Title [PHOTO/VIDEOS]

Now that Olympic season is starting in a few months, athletes from all over the world are getting on their grind and competing in essential competitions to determine if they will be a good fit to represent their country at the 2016 Games in Rio De Janeiro.

Simone Biles, a pint-sized 19-year-old gymnast currently living in the Lone Star State, clinched the all-around title at the 2016 Pacific Rim Challenge this past weekend in Everett, Wash.

She also won the gold medal on the vault, balance beam and floor exercise, and the U.S. women won first place in the team standings with a score of 243.200; the second place team’s score was 219.100.

Biles, who is the three-time consecutive national and world champion, spoke to ESPN about her impressive competition performances.

Nigerian soccer star Kanu Nwankwo met with his former Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger in London during the signing of two new players, Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze, to the UK club.

The two youngsters were part of the Nigerian team that won the Under-17 World Cup in November last year.

Chelsea have completed the signing of Matt Miazga from New York Red Bulls. The USA international central defender has signed a four-and-a-half year deal at Stamford Bridge and becomes Guus Hiddink's second signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of Alexandre Pato.

"I am very happy to sign for Chelsea, a world-famous club with a reputation for major success. I am delighted to be in the Premier League, the best league in the world, and can't wait to meet my team-mates and get going," the 20-year-old told the club's official website.

"I am still at the beginning of my career but I believe this is the place to develop and learn from some of the best players in the world."

Miazga joined the Red Bulls in 2009 at the age of 14 and rose through the youth ranks at the club before making his debut in 2013 as a substitute in the 4-1 victory over Houston Dynamo.

#BBB NEWS| FIFA Bans Sepp Blatter And Michel Platini For 8 Years

(CNN) - FIFA president Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini have been banned from all football-related activities for eight years by FIFA's Ethics Committee.

Football's world governing body's Ethics Committee ruled Monday that both FIFA president, Blatter and his UEFA (European football's governing body) counterpart Platini had broken FIFA Code of Ethics relating to conflicts of interest, breach of loyalty and gifts.

The pair were cleared of bribery and corruption allegations.

"The adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee chaired by Mr Hans‑Joachim Eckert has banned Mr Joseph S. Blatter, President of FIFA, for eight years and Mr Michel Platini, Vice-President and member of the Executive Committee of FIFA and President of UEFA, for eight years from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) on a national and international level," the FIFA statement read.

(CNN) - December is usually a nervy time for managers and coaches of under-performing football teams across Europe, as club owners ponder decisive changes ahead of the new transfer window.

While most sackings tend to come at smaller sides struggling to keep their place in the top divisions, the past few days' machinations have involved some of the biggest names in the game.

First, English Premier League champion Chelsea axed Jose Mourinho on Thursday, and replaced him with Guus Hiddink as interim manager on Saturday.

On Sunday, German titleholder Bayern Munich announced that its former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola will stand down at the end of this season and be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti, who has won a legion of trophies at AC Milan, Real Madrid, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.

On Friday, it was announced that Yaya Toure won the BBC African Footballer of the year award. The 32-year old Ivorian plays midfield for the football club Manchester United. Yaya Toure has been nominated for the award 7 times.

This is the second time he has received the award, he won in 2013 as well, making him one of three African players who have won the award twice. 

The award is given out annually to the African player who receives the most votes from BBC Radio listeners. Speaking to BBC Sport, Mr. Toure expressed his gratitude to the fans.

"I am very proud. To receive this dedication from the fans is unbelievable," He said.

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets successfully retained the FIFA U-17 World Cup after beating Mali 2-0 at the Estadio Sausalito Vina del Mar, with Victor Osimhen scoring his record-breaking tenth goal of the tournament.

#BBB NEWS| New Super Eagles Coaches To Receive Three-Month Salary Advance

New Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Ogorchukwu Oliseh, along with his two assistants, are to receive three months’ salary advances as they take up their assignments in Nigeria, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said at their unveiling in Abuja on Wednesday.

NFF boss Amaju Pinnick made the surprising announcement as he welcomed the new coaches.   In the past, national coaches have sometimes been owed several months of unpaid wages.

Responding to the announcement after he signed a three-year contract, which has the option of an additional year, the Delta-State born coach opened up on his philosophy for players selection to his team.

“My assistants and myself will not invite to the camp of the National Team of Nigeria any player who is not playing in the top division in the recognized Leagues of the world, including Nigeria. The only exception would be those players from any of the age-grade National Teams that we find exceptional and deserving of an opportunity to try and win shirts in the senior team,” he declared.

Ahead of tomorrow's unveiling exercise by the Nigeria Football Federation, newly appointed Super Eagles coach arrived Abuja this evening to take up the job of coaching Nigeria's national team, the Super Eagles.

Oliseh, who played for Nigeria between 1993 to 2002, stormed Abuja, the country's federal capital territory to formally resume his new appointment and sign necessary documents that would solidify the deal.

There is speculation that the NFF might withhold the unveiling exercise slated for tomorrow because the National Sports Commission (NSC) are not in full support of Oliseh's appointment.

Novak Djokovic ended Roger Federer's dream of winning a record-breaking eighth Wimbledon title with a four-set win in Sunday's men's singles final.

#BBB NEWS| Sunday Oliseh Not Fit To Coach Nigeria's Super Eagles - Former Technical Adviser, Clemens Westerhof

Former Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Clemens Westerhof has condemned the move by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to offer untested Sunday Ogorchukwu Oliseh the coaching reins of the country's senior national team.

According to the Dutchman, Oliseh, his former player lacks the technical capability to lead the team, especially in this crucial time giving the sack of former coach, Stephen Keshi. He also maintained the NFF is committing a blunder by hiring a greenhorn coach who has not gotten the requisite experience to handle the team.

“No, no, that cannot be, he can’t be Super Eagles coach. Oliseh cannot, no, he can’t,” Westerhof said.

“If the Nigeria Football Federation is bringing Oliseh to handle the Super Eagles, then that is too bad because it is not right. It is not proper, he is not the right man for the job.”

Serena Williams beat a battling Garbine Muguruza 6-4 6-4 in the Wimbledon final on Saturday to land her second 'Serena Slam' and secure the 21st Grand Slam title of her career.

After losing a close first set and battling bravely to come back from 5-1 down in the second, the 21-year-old Spaniard was eventually downed after one hour and 23 minutes to leave Williams to receive the acclaim of the Centre Crowd.

At 33 years and 289 days, Serena surpasses Martina Navratilova as the oldest player to win Wimbledon, or any of the other three Grand Slams, in the Open era.

"It feels so good. Garbine played so well. I didn't even know it was over because she was fighting so hard at the end. She will be holding this trophy very, very soon. I am happy it was such a great match," said Williams.

#BBB NEWS| Stephen Keshi Threatens To Drag Nigeria Football Federation To FIFA Court

Stephen Keshi, who was sacked on Saturday as head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, is threatening to file a case against the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) at the FIFA Court of Arbitration.

Mr. Keshi was fired over allegations that he applied for a job to coach Les Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire. The former Super Eagles coach denied seeking the Ivorian coaching job, according to a report prepared by the NFF disciplinary committee following a meeting attended by Mr. Keshi before his sack.

However, the NFF insisted that the embattled coach did not present enough strong evidence to prove his innocence.

Subsequently, the NFF considered the coach’s alleged application for the coaching job in Cote d’Ivoire as a breach of contract. The Nigerian football governing body therefore felt justified in removing Mr. Keshi, who led Nigeria to the AFCON Cup, without giving him any financial compensation.

Serena Williams continued her march towards a sixth Wimbledon singles crown as she reached the quarter-finals with a straight sets victory over sister Venus on Centre Court.

The top seed won 6-4 6-3 in 70 minutes, to make it 25 straight victories in Grand Slam tournaments.

The 33-year-old was serving close to her best and, apart from being broken in the fourth game of the opening set, never looked in danger of dropping her service again.

Serena sent down 10 aces to just two from Venus, while also avoiding any double faults. In her final seven service games she conceded just eight points.

#BBB NEWS| Nigeria Sacks National Soccer Coach Stephen Keshi

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has terminated the appointment of Stephen Keshi as Head Coach of the Senior National Football Team, Super Eagles.

A statement by the NFF Executive Committee on Saturday said this decision was made, “having thoroughly reviewed the reports/findings of the NFF Disciplinary Committee and NFF Technical and Development Committee, as well as having reviewed the actions and inactions of Mr. Stephen Keshi, in the performance of his duties as Super Eagles’ Head Coach, which we found to lack the required commitment to achieve the Federation’s objectives as set out in the Coach’s employment contract.”

The statement went further: “To this end and pursuant to the provisions of Clause 4.3 of the Employment Contract between Mr. Stephen Keshi and the NFF (The Contract) and the various clauses therein, the Nigeria Football Federation has decided to exercise its option to summarily terminate the employment contract of Mr. Stephen Keshi with the Federation with immediate effect.”
