#BBB NEWS| Kanye West Passes Michael Jackson’s Top 40 Chart Achievement

Kudos are in order for Mr. West. Kanye West’s 40th song on the Billboard Top 40 song chart—the Schoolboy Q song “That Part,” in which he is featured on—puts the rapper on the top ten list of male artists with the most songs on the Top 40 chart in history.

With this new achievement, he is one Top 40 hit ahead of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, who had 39 by the time he passed away.

Yeezy is not the only male musician from the 2000s and beyond who have accomplished this feat. Lil Wayne has the second highest number of Top 40 entries, right behind Elvis Presley. Drake is in 4th place as of now, while Jay Z and Chris Brown also make the list in 6th and 8th place, respectively.

With an alleged joint album between him and Drake, it looks like Kanye and Drizzy will have more entries on the Billboard chart to catapult them further on the list.

Take a look at the top 10 below.

#BBB NEWS| Snoop Dogg And Ghostface Killah React To Billboard’s ’10 Greatest Rappers’ List [PHOTOS]

Billboard looked at the best of the best in hip hop and narrowed down some of the greatest rappers in a top ten list that was released last week. Some obvious picks made the list while others, on the other hand, didn’t quite make the cut.

Though some didn’t find their name on the list, it didn’t stop them from voicing their frustration on some names that (dead or alive) should’ve made it.

Snoop Dogg was a prime example of pointing out exactly who he thought was missing from the “10 Greatest Rappers” roll call.

#BBB NEWS| Billboard’s ‘Money-Makers’ List Include Jay Z, Eminem And Drake! Check Out The Full List

Billboard magazine just released their Money-Makers List: Music’s Top Earners of 2014. It’s different than the more famous Forbes list in that Billboard only takes into account four revenue sources: sales, streaming, publishing and touring.

Which is why Dr. Dre — and his Beats Audio sale — can top Forbes’ list, but he doesn’t even make Billboard’s.

Overall, the list is another example that 2014 was a down year for Hip Hop. Only Jay Z (ninth place) Eminem (20th) and Drake (21st) made the top 40. (Hov’s wife Beyonce came in a few spots behind him at 12th.)

#BBB NEWS| Jay Z Clears Up A Few Things About TIDAL With ‘Billboard’

Jay Z has recently made a huge investment on his purchase of Aspiro— the company that owns music streaming services TIDAL and WiMP—for a hefty $56 million.

Essentially, Hov is pushing TIDAL forward. During a press conference held yesterday (March 30), it was revealed that some of music’s elite are also partnering with Jay in the business deal, serving as co-owners: Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Usher, Alicia Keys, Madonna, Kanye West and more. But we must say: there were a few questions left unanswered.

To help us all out, Jay Z recently chopped it up with Billboard to discuss his reasoning for wanting to take over TIDAL, how accessible it will be for the public and how his relationship with Jimmy Lovine is standing.
