Sean “Diddy” Combs will unveil the highly anticipated documentary, Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: The Bad Boy Story, at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.

According to reports, the Live Nation documentary directed by Daniel Kaufman takes a behind-the-scenes look at the legacy of the label, as well as what it took to produce the two-day concert event at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center last year, which honored the label’s late great MC, The Notorious B.I.G.

“The cameras will also trail Diddy as he tries to wrangle the Bad Boy Family –including Lil’ Kim, Mase, Faith Evans, Mario Winans and 112, among others– for the pair of sold-out shows within a three-week rehearsal period,” wrote Billboard.

Nigerian Breweries Plc on Wednesday commissioned its upgraded brewery in Ota, Ogun State as part of its strategic plan to consolidate its leadership position in the industry.

Part of the brewery infrastructure commissioned at the well-attended ceremony included a new PET line, a Water Treatment Plant and a Waste Water Treatment Plant, among twenty one others.

While welcoming guests who included the governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Kola Jamodu, Chairman, Nigerian Breweries Plc, explained that the multi-billion Naira PET line which currently boasts the best technology in the HEINEKEN world was installed to deepen availability of the non-alcoholic product portfolio of the company.

He added that the modern Water Treatment Plant was constructed to ensure the continued excellent quality of the company’s brands while the Waste Water Treatment Plant further contributes to the success of its sustainability agenda of “Brewing a Better World”.

#BBB NEWS| Nike Creates A Hijab That Caters To Muslim Women In Sports [PHOTO/VIDEO]

Nike has recently created a prototype hijab especially made for Muslim athletes, reports CNN Money.

The design will officially make its debut in Spring 2018. The head covering tilted “Nike Pro-Hijab” is made up of a single layer pull of lightweight polyester in dark colors. Additionally, the fabric will have tiny holes, a requirement for hijabs.

According to Nike, the hijab has already been tested out by Emirate figure skater Zahra Lari. “I was thrilled and a bit emotional to see Nike prototyping a Hijab,” Lari said in a statement. “I’ve tried so many different hijabs for performance, and … so few of them actually work for me. But once I put it on and took it for a spin on the ice, I was blown away by the fit and the light weight.”

#BBB NEWS| ‘Scarface’ Actress Miriam Colón Passes Away At 80

Legendary Puerto Rican actress Miriam Colón died at age 80 last Friday, reports The New York Times.

Colón was widely known for her roles on Scarface (as Al Pacino’s mom) and One Life to Live. The Boricua artist was born on Aug. 20, 1936 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and later arrived in New York City in 1953 to pursue acting. Soon after, she made history enrolling in the Actor’s Studio as its first Puerto Rican member ever.

In 1967 she founded the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, designed to help showcase young Latino artist. In 1981, she also founded the company’s permanent home on West 47th street named, the Pregones Theater Puerto Rican Traveling Theater.

For her stellar achievements including starring in roles on Lone Star, Bless Me, Ultima, Gloria, How to Make It in America and Better Call Saul; President Obama honored her with the National Medal of Arts in 2015.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Carters arrived just before the film played. The family might’ve missed the other events that transpired that evening like jugglers on stilts and ballroom dancing.

Bey posted photos of the outing on her website, filled with Ivy looking adorable as usual. Bey wore a Gucci dress paired with Alaia shoes and accessories by Kimberly McDonald.

Foxy Brown is the latest artist to release a diss track, this one aimed at Remy Ma. After the latter emcee unveiled “shETHER” against Nicki Minaj, listeners picked up on a line that they assumed was a jab at Brown.

The lyrics in question: “I kill rappers/ And you good as dead, bi**h/ Talking s**t about me to a deaf bi**h/ And usually I have sympathy for the impaired/ But not when you hard of hearin’ from untreated gonorrhea.”

The Brooklynite laid her verse over Jay Z’s “Takeover” instrumental, which was originally released as a slight to Nas, who then returned with “Ether.” Within the snippet, Brown takes aim at Remy’s time at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, name-dropped Papoose, and backed Nicki Minaj. “I’m on my ’96 s**t/Got the DNA of Hova/ And Nick my bi**h/ But bi**h I’m sayin’/I’m where the carcass layin’,” Brown raps. The pair have traded lyrical blows since 2004.

In his keynote address at the roundtable which focused on Juju and Fuji genres of music, Professor Tunde Babawale explained that the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba provided the foundation on which the music genres of Juju and Fuji are built.

Babawale, a former Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Black and African Arts and Civilisation, CBAAC, noted that the attachment of the Yoruba people of South West Nigeria to music and celebration has earned them the appellation of “Owambe”, a reference to their love for ceremonies and celebrations.

Lil’ Kim landed in the center of a rumor this past weekend concerning Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj. Now, the legendary Hard Core artist sets the record straight in a recent interview with Billboard.

This past weekend, Remy Ma released a no-holds-barred track aimed at Nicki Minaj titled “shETHER,” after the Barb seemingly took jabs at the Bronx rapper in “Make Love,” featuring Gucci Mane. This ignited a fiery beef between the two ladies on the mic, which Lil’ Kim plans to stay clear of.

“We all know the situation that’s going on with Remy and ol’ girl. That’s their situation and I have nothing to do with that,” the Brooklynite said. “They have a rumor out there like, ‘Kim is gonna do a diss track with Remy.’ First of all, let me tell you this. Legendary producers Swizz Beatz and Just Blaze got together on Friday night (Feb. 24) to go head to head for a once-in-a-lifetime DJ battle at an undisclosed location in NYC. The duo went back and forth mixing their extensive catalogs of bangers for more than two hours.

The clash was hosted by Hot 97’s Ebro Darden, and the room which ended up filling out more and more as the battle went on — including a visit from Busta Rhymes. Just and Swizz began by chopping up old school classics like “Pump Me Up” and “Big Beat,” before getting into their array of hits from the early 2000s.

You might remember Kanye West and Swizz sparring against each other at Hot 97 Summer Jam back in 2007. Give that classic footage a look below — it’s a breath of fresh air and a reminder of the aggressive mentality the rap was built on.

#BBB NEWS| TLC’s Final Album Will Be Released In June??

In 2015, the surviving members of the iconic girl group TLC announced plans to release their fifth and final album, and on Monday, (Feb. 27) the group’s manager said the project would tentatively be released in June.

Bill Diggins revealed in a post on the group’s Kickstarter page that T-Boz and Chili were putting the finishing touches on their last LP together.

The fan-funded project came about after Chilli–who celebrated her 46th birthday on Monday as well–and T-Boz announced their plans to get back in the studio one more time. However, they didn’t want to take the traditional label route.

The group wanted to create their album their way and asked fans to help fund the project via Kickstarter. Within one week, they received $150,000 and Katy Perry even pitched in donating $5,000. One month later they amassed $430,255 from nearly 4000 pledges.

Among the many surprises during the Academy-Award ceremony Sunday night, (Feb. 26) was the action-packed new Netflix trailer for Bright, an original film which stars Will Smith and  Loving’s Joel Edgerton.

A 30-second trailer made its way to television screens during the 89th Academy Awards and left us all with questions. The original film, written by Max Landis, will be directed by David Ayer who directed Suicide Squad.

The sci-fi film depicts a world where humans are living amongst supernatural creatures.  An Orc cop played by Edgerton is seen partnered with Will Smith who plays a human cop as they make their way through the alternate universe.

Noomi Rapace, Edgar Ramirez, Ika Barinholtz and Kenneth Choi are amongst the other actors who will take on roles in the original film. The film is set to release on Netflix this December.

#BBB NEWS| Egbe Alu DunDun Emerges Best Drum Band At Goldberg Excellency Tour In Ilorin [PHOTOS]

Egbe Alu Dundun has clinched the overall prize in the traditional drumming contest at the Ilorin edition of the Goldberg Excellency Tour on Sunday, February 26, 2017.

The winning band outshone four other finalists at the contest held at Forest Guest Inn, Old GRA, Ilorin and took home a cash prize of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira. Ayanwale band came second and won One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira while Arowolo band took the third position and went home with One Hundred Thousand Naira. The fourth and fifth finalists, Egbe Omo Ayan and Ori Oye also got cash prizes of Fifty Thousand Naira each.

The event, aptly captioned ‘Ilorin Excellent Nite’, created a spectacle for residents and visitors who trooped to the venue to witness a display of creativity in traditional drumming by the five finalists who made it from the audition stage. Originality, stage craft, appearance and presentation were the criteria for selecting the winning groups who dazzled the crowd and judges during the contest.

#BBB NEWS| Statue Of Liberty Spotted With “Refugees Welcome” Sign [PHOTOS]

As Donald Trump proceeded to revise his travel ban, which was unanimously rejected in a federal appeals court this month, the Statue of Liberty bore a “Refugees Welcome” sign on Tuesday (Feb. 21).

Though Lady Liberty has long stood as a pillar of freedom, the National Park Service played no role in the demonstration other than removing the sign less than an hour after its display, The Huffington Post reports.

A group of anonymous activists known as Alt Lady Liberty has since claimed responsibility for the action, which “was taken by private citizens who are concerned about the un-American turn our immigration policy has taken and decided to speak up,” its spokesperson told HuffPost.

#BBB NEWS| Nigerian Breweries Records 6.7% Revenue Growth, Proposes N28 Billion Dividend Payout

The Board of Directors of Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced revenue of N313 billion for the 2016 financial year. The amount represents only a 6.7% growth from the N293 billion it recorded in 2015.

An analysis of the audited results shows that Results from Operating Activities declined by 15 per cent to close at N52.9 billion in 2016 from N62 billion achieved in 2015. Profit before Tax dropped by 27.3 per cent from N54 billion at the end of the 2015 financial year to N39.6 billion in the same period in 2016 while Profit after tax dipped by 25.4 per cent to N28.4 billion in 2016 from the N38 billion posted in 2015.

In a statement to The Nigerian Stock Exchange, signed by Mr. Uaboi Agbebaku, Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, the Company said the results were impacted by high inflation and scarcity of foreign exchange in the macro-economic environment.

A witness in the ongoing trial of a Federal High Court judge, Adeniyi Ademola, has explained how the State Security Service, SSS, conducted its investigations before charges were drawn against the defendants. (pictured above) Justice Adeniyi Ademola and wife in court.

Mr. Ademola is facing trial alongside his wife, Olubowale, who is the immediate past Head of Service of Lagos State, and Joe Agi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

The witness, Babatunde Adepoju, an SSS official who led the investigations into the alleged offenses committed by the defendants, said he was assigned to the case after a search warrant was executed at the residence of the defendant in October.

Mr. Adepoju explained that he was assigned to investigate the matter following the recoveries made during the search at the residence of the defendants, and other allegations, including those contained in a petition written against Mr. Ademola.

YouTube is doing their part to save its users a lot of time come 2018. A Google spokesman announced the platform is doing away with their traditional 30-second non-skippable video advertisements. “We’re committed to providing a better ad experience for users online.

As part of that, we’ve decided to stop supporting 30-second un-skippable ads as of 2018 and focus instead on formats that work well for both users and advertisers,” said a Google rep.

#BBB NEWS| Lauryn Hill’s Son, Zion Marley, Reportedly Welcomes His First Child [PHOTO]

In 1998, Lauryn Hill released “To Zion” in honor of her first-born, Zion Marley, and it looks like her eldest child is now a father himself. Hill’s 19-year-old son and his girlfriend reportedly welcomed a son named, Zephaniah.

Hill hasn’t confirmed the birth, but Zion’s father, Rohan Marley, tweeted a photo of the newborn on Sunday (Feb. 19) along with a Bible verse from Zephaniah 3:16.

“In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack,” Rohan wrote hashtagging the newborn’s name.

Zion also shared a photo of the baby, on his private Instagram account captioned, “If there ever was a question who I do it for…#myson.”

Besides Zion, Hill and Marley have five other children together: Sarah, Selah, John and Joshua. The 41-year-old Grammy winner welcomed her sixth child, Micah, in 2011.

At a #TIDALXNOLA event during All-Star Weekend hosted by the Jigga Man on Friday (Feb. 17), Jay Electronica took to the mic to gush about the evening’s illustrious host.

“I appreciate you, dog,” he told Jay Z. “I love you, bro,” to which Jay Z responded, “let’s go put this album out.

There have been a few subtle hints that something from the New Orleans MC would be dropping this year. Director Jason Goldwatch typed the caption “1.7.17” under a picture of Electronica on Instagram last summer. Although that date has since passed, this pressing statement from Hov to Jay should allow fans draw their own conclusions.

Otapo Bata Drummers from Abeokuta have emerged winners at the traditional drummers contest at the kick-off event of the Goldberg Excellency Tour in Abeokuta on Saturday, February 18, 2017.

The group outperformed four other groups at the grand finale to cart home the coveted prize of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N250, 000). Ayanwale Drummers clinched the second position and won One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N150, 000) while Omo Aribido Drummers claimed the third spot and settled for the One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100, 000) on offer for the slot.

The other two finalists, Ayandare Drummers and Paramount Band got Fifty Thousand Naira (N50, 000) each.

At the commencement of the event on Friday, February 17, 2017, 12 groups auditioned at the cultural centre, venue of the event, with five groups emerging from the pool to reach the grand finale.

The Nigeria police have released Audu Maikori, founder of Chocolate City, from detention, according to a tweet posted by the firm’s business development manager, Edward Ayide-Israel. 

Mr. Ayide-Israel took to Twitter a short while ago to announce the release of Mr. Maikori from police detention. “Thanks everyone for #FreeAudu. He’s been released,” he tweeted. The post added, “Thanks everyone for your advocacy to #FreeAudu. He’s out now. God bless you. We owe the release of @Audu to the good work of his lawyer Barr. Mark Jacob and your unending calls to #FreeAudu. Great job guys.”

Moviegoers are counting down the days to the premiere of Tupac’s long-awaited biopic, All Eyez On Me, and to assist in promotion of the film — due June 16 — the reel’s handlers dropped another trailer, briefly revealing Pac and Biggie Smalls’ interaction.

The slain lyricists both reigned as kings of their respective coasts, influencing waves of rappers that still study their music in present time. Both legends lost their lives in separate shootings, Biggie in 1997, and the “Ghetto Gospel” MC in 1996. Their murders have yet to be solved.

The “Sky’s The Limit” artist will be played by Jamal Woolard, who stepped into the Brooklynite’s shoes for the Notorious biopic, released in 2009. In a previous interview with VIBE, Woolard said All Eyez On Me will be a box office hit. “I already know it’s going to do $100 million in the first week,” he said. “[And] big ups to Demetrius Shipp Jr. for doing the best [Pac] I have ever seen. Beyoncé stopped the world yet again when she announced her pregnancy earlier this week, complete with an album featuring stunning shots of her growing belly.

What may not have been as obvious to the eye were Queen Bey’s references to the Yoruba tradition, which originated in Nigeria before expanding to Latin America via the trans-Atlantic slave trade.

This isn’t the first time the Grammy Award-winning artist paid homage to the practice. Before channeling Oshun (also spelled Osun) while awaiting the arrival of her twin babies, Beyoncé paid tribute to the goddess of water, fertility and love in visual album Lemonade, most notably seen in “Hold Up.”

The Florida Department of Children & Families could offer little reasoning as to why a 14-year-old chose to commit suicide and broadcast it on Facebook Live.

According to the Miami-Herald, Nakia Venant fashioned a noose from her scarf and then hung herself from the bathroom of her Miami Gardens foster home Sunday. (Jan. 22)

Although the stream ended abruptly after Nakia’s death, the horrific damage was done and authorities are now asking the public for privacy as they try and figure out why.

“We are absolutely horrified and devastated by the news of this young girl’s death,” said DCF Secretary Mike Carroll. “We will do everything we can to support this family and all those who cared for her as they begin to heal from this tragedy. We will conduct a comprehensive, multidisciplinary special review to examine this child’s history and the circumstances related to serving the child.”

#BBB NEWS| Bobby Shmurda Affiliate Curses Out Judge Before Receiving 117.5 To 130 Years Sentence [PHOTO]

Bobby Shmurda’s co-defendant in a Brooklyn gang conspiracy case was removed from a Manhattan courtroom on Thursday (Jan. 19) for telling a judge “suck my d**k” before receiving his sentence of over a century behind bars.

Santino Boderick hurled a plethora of expletives at Justice Abraham Clott including “F**k you!” Clott, however, remained calm and had the 23-year-old removed from the courtroom where he eventually read Boderick’s 117.5 to 130-year sentence.

Boderick was convicted of a host of charges including 20 felonies stemming from several gang-related shootings, along with conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon. According to Page Six, Boderick turned down a plea deal in September 2016, which would have required him to serve a total of 15 years in prison.

#BBB NEWS| El Chapo Has Been Extradited To U.S. - Mexican Government

Mexican government officials have announced Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzman has been extradited to the United States for six separate indictments throughout the country.

The news was confirmed Thursday (Jan. 19) by a spokesperson for the Mexican attorney general and the U.S. Department of Justice, ABC News reports. El Chapo was seen at the Ciudad Juarez airport, although it hasn’t been reported where in the U.S. he will land. As the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, El Chapo is facing drug charges in California and Texas.

In May, the U.S. claimed Guzman would not face the death penalty, with a Mexican judge pausing the process in June over concerns about El Chapo’s “physical integrity.” The extradition was later approved.

#BBB NEWS| Parents Reportedly Stop Daughter’s Financial Support Because She’s Dating A Black Teen [PHOTO]

One teen is taking her future into her own hands after her parents made a drastic decision over her dating preference, she claims.

According to the New York Daily News, 18-year-old Allie Dowdle said her parents ceased their financial support of her education after she notified them that her boyfriend, Michael, is black.

The Tennessee resident said her parents were more than upset with the news and things only escalated from there. Although Dowdle and Michael dated out of sight of her parents, she brought her partnership up again to see if their opinions changed. They responded by stopping all funds which benefited her car, education and phone.

“Over the past year, I’ve fought so hard to make my parents see Michael as a human being instead of just someone who is African American,” she writes. “I’ve advocated as best I know how.” The decision led Dowdle to create a GoFundMe page to support her first-year tuition for college, receiving over $13,000.

It told those there to consider leaving the country, citing the risk of unrest as President Yahya Jammeh digs in despite losing the election of 1 December.

“The US Department of State warns US citizens against travel to The Gambia because of the potential for civil unrest and violence in the near future,” the statement said.

It said the supreme court hearing on Jan. 10 of Jammeh’s challenge to the result that elected his rival Adama Barrow was a potential flashpoint for violence.

Mr. Bakare said the policies, especially on exchange and interest rates, should be discarded forthwith and more pragmatic ones be implemented instead.

Mr. Buhari’s chief spokesperson, Garba Shehu, announced this in a press release issued on Sunday. He said the meeting would be “aimed at avoiding violence and preserving democracy” in The Gambia.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) chose Mr. Buhari to mediate the negotiations, while immediate past president of Ghana, John Mahama, will serve as co-mediator.

Mr. Shehu stated that the two statesmen will also be tasked with ensuring that President-elect Adama Barrow is safe.

There are only 12 days left in Barack Obama’s presidency, and it is giving so many Americans an overwhelming amount of ‘feels.’ But instead of tweeting about it or sobbing in a corner as some of us have done, T.I. channeled his grief into an open letter, thanking President Obama for his service throughout his two terms in the White House. President Barack Obama shared his parting words for the nation he led for eight years in a lengthy farewell letter. In the note, the outgoing POTUS detailed the high points of his presidency, while also sharing some of his regrets as commander-in-chief.

Viola Davis has received the first win of 2017 when she was presented with her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The dynamic actress was presented with her star Thursday afternoon (Jan. 4) with the help of friend and fellow icon Meryl Streep.

The two have worked together in the 2008 film Doubt, and have shared a huge appreciation for each other’s approach to their memorable roles. Streep praised Davis for her talent, professing that her crowning is well overdue.

“The thing Viola can’t do is be invisible. She just can’t do it,” Streep said. “She can’t fade away; she can’t recede; she can’t be forgettable. Viola Davis is inevitable. Janet Jackson and her husband, Wissam Al Mana, are the parents to a baby boy. Jackson gave birth to the couple’s son, Eissa Al Mana, Tuesday (Jan. 3), People reports.

“Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world,” Jackson’s rep said in a statement, adding that the 50-year-old icon had a “stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.”

Last April, Jackson announced that she was taking time off of her Unbreakable tour to focus on starting a family. She officially confirmed the pregnancy later in the year.

#BBB NEWS| Buhari Begins Payment Of Monthly Stipend Of N5000 To ‘Poorest And Most Vulnerable’

The federal government says it has begun the payment of a monthly stipend of N5000 to one million of Nigeria’s poorest and most vulnerable.

A statement by Laolu Akande, spokesman to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, said the program is being implemented through the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) component of the government’s Social Investment Programmes (SIP).

He said that the first batch, which commenced last week, covered nine States, and that many of the beneficiaries reported receiving their first payments by Friday, December 30.  Those States are: Borno, Kwara, Bauchi, Cross River, Niger, Kogi, Oyo, Ogun and Ekiti.

“Funds for the commencement of the payments in four states were released last week to the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) – the platform that hosts and validates payments for all government’s social intervention programs,” Akande said, adding that funds for another set of five states will follow soon.

#BBB NEWS| Robert Smith, African-American Billionaire, Seeks To Fund The Education Of Freed Chibok Girls

The next phase of life for 21 Chibok girls who were freed from the captivity of Boko Haram will include their continued pursuit of an adequate education.

According to The Root, Robert Smith, an African-American billionaire, seeks to fund the education of those girls by enrolling them at the American University of Nigeria.

The scholarship will include the girls’ room and board and their yearly tuition, which can hit close to $11,000. In a statement presented to Forbes, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said Smith will also guide the educational dreams of “others who will hopefully be eventually set free.”

Smith, 54, attained financial freedom after establishing Vista Equity Partners, tallying his company’s worth at $26 billion. His net worth stands at $2.5 billion. At the top of 2016, Smith granted his alma mater, Cornell University, with a $50 million check and became the chairman of Carnegie Hall.
