On Friday afternoon (July 22), the Folarin artist welcomed his baby girl in New York City after his significant other endured a long labor process since Wednesday, TMZ reports, leading Wale to cancel his performance at the One Africa Music Fest in Brooklyn.
The happy couple also decided to name their new bundle of joy Zyla Moon Oluwakemi.

On Instagram, the MMG cohort shared that once he received the news that he was going to be a father, he came up with the title of his fifth studio album, S.H.I.N.E.
“My focus is renewed, I’m infinitely in love with my princess and I truly appreciate all the love you have shown her and how understanding many people who knew were,” he wrote. “Imma keep workin on me and pray to God I can design a young princess who flourishes to an absolute queen .. I got u baby … U go girl .. You are my everything and I’ll see to it we SHINE my precious Zyla.”
The D.C. native has been open on his private life when it comes to previously trying to have a baby with his girlfriend, sharing that moment of their miscarriage on songs like “The Matrimony.” Now, a new blessing has entered their life and we can’t wait to hear what lyrics Wale will dedicate to his daughter.
