#BBB NEWS| Act Of Kindness Alert: J. Cole Visits A Young Fan Battling Cancer [PHOTO]

Continuing his spree as an awesome human, J. Cole recently visited a young fan who is battling cancer. Tae Stackhouse, who currently resides in Cole’s native Fayetteville, N.C., was given the opportunity to meet the rapper after his mother and aunt reached out for a visit from the Dreamville MC.

Fulfilling the family’s wish, Cole made his way to the North Carolina Cancer Hospital to give Stackhouse some encouraging words. Posting a photo alongside the rapper, Stackhouse expressed his gratitude.

“I really appreciate this just wanna give a big s/o to my mom and my aunt for bringing my favorite rapper to see me I’m proud to say that I’m blessed even tho I have cancer he told me to keep positive so that’s what Ima do thanks j.cole #RoleModel,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

(CNN)Gunmen have taken 170 people hostage inside the Radisson Blu Hotel in Mali's capital, Bamako.

The hotel chain said two armed men have locked in 140 guests and 30 employees.

Malian soldiers with help from U.N. troops have the hotel surrounded.

#BBB NEWS| World's Second-Largest Diamond 'Found In Botswana' [PHOTOS]

The world's second-largest gem quality diamond has been discovered in Botswana, the Lucara Diamond firm says.

The 1,111-carat stone was recovered from its Karowe mine, about 500km (300 miles) north of the capital, Gaborone.

It is the biggest diamond to be discovered in Botswana and the largest find in more than a century.

The 3,106-carat Cullinan diamond was found in South Africa in 1905 and cut into nine separate stones, many of which are in the British Crown Jewels.

"The significance of the recovery of a gem quality stone larger than 1,000 carats, the largest for more than a century... cannot be overstated," William Lamb, the CEO of Lucara Diamond, a Canadian diamond producer, said in a statement.

A military spokesman, Colonel Tukur Ismail Gusau, has denied a media report that Boko Haram insurgents overran troops in Guzamala, Borno State.

The report had also claimed that the Islamist fighters killed several soldiers, adding that some soldiers, including the commanding officer of the military unit, could not be accounted for.

In a statement, Colonel Gusau stated that it was untrue that Boko Haram terrorists ransacked soldiers of the 157 Task Force Battalion in Guzamala. He also dismissed the report that the troops lost equipment to the terrorists.

He declared the report as “a fabrication from the imagination of those sympathetic to Boko Haram ways of life.”

#BBB NEWS| Jamie Foxx’s Daughter Corrine Foxx Named “Miss Golden Globe” 2016 [PHOTO]

Corinne Foxx, the daughter of actor and singer Jamie Foxx, will be taking on the role of “Miss Golden Globe” at the 2016 Golden Globes Ceremony, People Magazine reports.

The 21-year-old model, who is a senior studying at the University of Southern California, is often a staple on red carpets, serving as her famous father’s date on many occasions.

Foxx was anointed the role, traditionally given to the children of famous actors and actresses, by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. She is expected to help out at the ceremony, most notably task of handing out the awards to those who have won it (and of course look amazing doing so).

She will join the ranks of Miss (and Mr.) Golden Globes before her, such as Rumer Willis, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Dakota Johnson.

#BBB NEWS| Presidency Denies Spending N5.8B On Presidential Air Fleet, Discloses Massive Debt Left By Jonathan

President Muhammadu Buhari’s senior aide on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, has denied media reports that the present administration had spent close to N6 billion on the presidential air fleet (PAF) since its inauguration in May 2015.

In a statement issued earlier today, Mr. Shehu stated that the Buhari administration had so far spent only N2.127 billion on the PAF.

Last Saturday, the Saturday Punch reported that there were 10 aircraft in the fleet. There had been speculations that the fleet boasted as many as 14 planes. The Punch also reported that the Buhari administration had inherited all the planes, worth an estimated N77.319 billion, from President Goodluck Jonathan’s government.

Citing aviation experts, the report had reported that the total cost of maintaining the fleet was about 15-20% of the price of the fleet. Utilizing the more conservative 15% rate, the Punch concluded that the Buhari government must have spent N5.8 billion to run the fleet since last May.

A group of African students in Australia made headline news after they were racially profiled at an Apple store. The incident that occurred on Tuesday (Nov. 10), prompted a swift response from those who learned of the happening and Apple itself.

“Inclusion and diversity are among Apple’s core values,” a statement from the company reads. “We believe in equality for everyone, regardless of race, age, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. That applies throughout our company, around the world with no exceptions. We will continue to do everything in our power to ensure all our customers are treated the way they should be.”

In the video, an employee said there was a concern that the young students would steal, to which one of them asked, “What makes you think we’re going to steal something?” Without giving a concrete explanation, the employee said, “End of discussion. I need to ask you to leave our store.”

Jay Z and Alicia Keys are preparing to share their wise words of wisdom with students at Harvard University next year.

Harvard Business School’s African American Student Union will launch their annual H. Naylor Fitzhugh Conference from Feb. 5-7, 2016. The “Empire State Of Mind” collaborators will serve as keynote speakers for the event, alongside American Express CEO Kennth Chenault, and managing director of Bain Capital, Deval Patrick.

The conference will shed light on highlighting Black businesses, impactful networking events, TED talks and panel discussions.

Titled “Transcend: Redefining Expectations,” a statement on the AASU website reads, “We aim to celebrate African-American achievements, inspire many new milestones, and provide a forum for attendees to take on issues facing our community such as: What is the African-American business community’s response to social injustice? Where do African-Americans fit in to the ever expanding definition of diversity?”

Ronda Rousey’s stunning knockout loss to Holly Holm at Saturday night’s UFC 193 still has the Internet’s ears ringing.

The wildly-popular fighter was taken down in the second round against the former Holm, a former boxer and currently undefeated MMA fighter.

And as the memes continue being posted left and right, it looks like Rousey will get to avenge her loss. According to UFC president Dana White, the two will “absolutely” meet again.

“There will absolutely be a rematch. It’s the fight that makes sense,” White said, TMZ reports.

Rousey reportedly spent the night in an Australian hospital following the brutal loss. She is also “depressed,” having suffered a considerable wound in her lip that will require plastic surgery. White praised both fighters, giving Rousey credit for her accolades in the sport thus far, and Holm status as a veteran fighter in multiple sports, having fought 45 times.

The former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN governor and Emir of Kano, Mohammed Lamido Sanusi has said the embattled former petroleum resources minister, Diezani Allison-Madueke is “lying” over claim that he (Sanusi) came to lobby her for help over his interest in African Development Bank, AfDB presidency but came up with $20bn missing oil fund allegation because he lost out in getting the job.

Sanusi, speaking with Sunday Telegraph, said Diezani, battling breast cancer, was being economical with the truth in her interview with thebossnewspaper.com on his interest and how he lost the opportunity to head the continental financial institution.

Sanusi said it was not a hidden fact he expressed interest in the AfDB job when the position became vacant. He noted that while he expressed lack of interest in a second term as CBN Governor, he wrote a letter to former President Goodluck Jonathan and the Senate and also discussed his AfDB ambition extensively with the then Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke.

Lee was presented the honor by Denzel Washington, Samuel L. Jackson and Wesley Snipes, who have starred in a number of his classic films, including Malcolm X, Do The Right Thing and Jungle Fever.

Taking the stage to receive the coveted gold statue, Lee used the opportunity to call out Hollywood on its lack of diversity, E! News reports. Remarking that it is easier for a black person to become the President of the United States than the head of a film studio, Lee called for the industry to take action in a moving speech.
