#BBB NEWS| WATCH: Ice Cube Speaks On Ghostwriting In Hip-Hop [VIDEO]

Ghostwriting is the hot topic in hip-hop currently thanks to Meek Mill and Drake. Ice Cube is the latest rapper to share his opinion on the issue, and his answer might come as a surprise.

“I don’t think it ever mattered in record making,” Cube responded when asked about writing your own lyrics by WatchLoud. “I don’t think people care what it takes for you to make a good record, just make sure it’s good.” Also comparing the process to building a house, Cube added that you do get “extra points” in his book if you write your own rhymes.”

On the flip side, in the same clip, Ice Cube’s son — who’s playing his dad in N.W.W. biopic Straight Outta Compton — has a different opinion.  He believes you’re supposed to write your own lyrics and stand behind them unless you’re an R&B singer. Watch the interview below.
