#BBB NEWS| "Welcome To Diverse TV!" Idris Elba Takes Swipe At Oscars + Pics And FULL LIST OF WINNERS [PHOTOS]

Idris Elba was one of the big winners at the 22nd annual SAG Awards, taking home two gongs and throwing a little bit of shade at the Oscars while he was at it.

The supporting actor race seemed wide open, with presumed Oscar front-runner Sylvester Stallone (Creed) not nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Many thought it would go to one of the two actors nominated for an Oscar in this category - Christian Bale or Mark Rylance.

But instead the prize went to Elba, who was also passed over for an Oscar nomination this year, a snub no unnoticed as the #OscarsSoWhite controversy rumbles on.

Idris: "Welcome to diverse TV"

While his win for Luther in the TV Movie/Miniseries category wasn't that surprising, combined with his film win, it proved to be a great night for Elba.

Collecting his award, he gave a shout out to his two children and his mum.

Meanwhile, drawing light to the recent Oscars race controversy, the actor said: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to diverse TV,” as he returned to the stage for a third time to dish out an award.

SAG produced what felt, at least in part, like a message to the industry - a roll call of winners marked by diversity.

The cast of Orange is the New Black won, as did one of the show's principals, Uzo Aduba for her role as Crazy Eyes in the Netflix drama.

"I would like to take an opportunity to acknowledge the actors who are at home, not here in this room with us, but hoping to one day be in this room with us," she said as she gave her emotional thank you speech.

"Continue to keep trying, keep plugging, to keep working no matter if anyone tells you to get out of that line that you're waiting in, stay in line, you have the chance, it is yours," she added to huge applause.

Queen Latifah won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries category in her role as Bessie Smith in HBO's Bessie.

While in the actress - TV drama category, Viola Davis added another SAG prize to her mantle for her role as the anti-hero Professor Analise Keating in ABC's smash hit How to Get Away with Murder.

The Oscars issue was addressed a couple of times on stage, first by Orange star Laura Prepon and then again by Idris.

"Look at this stage, this is what we talk about when we talk about diversity, different race, color, creed, sexual orientation, thank you so much," Laura said.

The awards were based on voting by the 116,741 SAG-AFTRA members.

Balloting was open during the #OscarsSoWhite backlash and closed on Friday.
