#BBB NEWS| Prince Passes Away At 57

Chilling reports surfaced Thursday morning (Apr. 21), that famed musician Prince has died at age 57.

TMZ reports that the Purple Rain artist passed away at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota after authorities responded to an emergency medical call around 9:40 A.M.


Late last week, the highly-decorated musician’s plane made an emergency landing following a concert in Atlanta, Ga., after he started feeling ill. His representatives stated Prince was battling the flu and headed to a nearby hospital in Moline, Ill., where he remained in high spirits during his recovery.

Born Prince Rogers Nelson on June 7, 1958, the “Adore” artist grew up to become one of music’s pioneers in elevating any and every genre he touched. With a wealth of knowledge in various instruments, including his trusted guitar, Prince wooed and wowed crowds of fans and fellow artists.

Highlighting the span of his discography, Prince tallied seven Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Since the late 70s, Prince rolled out hit album after hit album, all the way up to HITnRUN Phase Two, making that his thirty-ninth studio album.

Details are still forthcoming as a police investigation is currently underway at his home in Carver County, Minnesota.

Prince’s rep recently published a statement on The Purple One’s untimely and shocking passing:

    “It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57. There are no further details as to the cause of death at this time.”

UPDATE:

This afternoon, the Carver County Sheriff issued a statement on Prince’s death.

    Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson reports that on April 21, 2016, at about 9:43 am, sheriff’s deputies responded to a medical call at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen. When deputies and medical personnel arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male in the elevator. First responders attempted to provide lifesaving CPR, but were unable to revive the victim. He was pronounced deceased at 10:07 am. He has been identified as Prince Rogers Nelson (57) of Chanhassen.

    The Carver County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
