#BBB NEWS| Tracy Morgan Performs For Doctors And Nurses Who Saved His Life

Almost two years after the car crash that seriously injured Tracy Morgan and killed his good friend James McNair, the comedian is getting back to business. He’s near the home stretch of his nationwide stand up tour called Picking Up The Pieces, and this past weekend, he had some very special attendees in the audience.

People reports the former 30 Rock star performed at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, N.J. Saturday, Apr. 16 for an audience full of the doctors, first responders and nurses from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, who treated him on his road to recovery.

“Last night was one of the most special nights of my life,” the 47-year-old told the magazine. “To be standing on stage with the people that saved my life in the audience was an overwhelming experience. I will never fully be able to thank the doctors, nurses, first responders and everyone else that got me back on that stage enough.”

Last year in his first televised interview since the crash, he told TODAY’s Matt Lauer the nurses put up with his changing behavior after coming out of his coma, which he was in for roughly two weeks. However, he is more than thankful for those who helped him get back on track.

“These people are heroes and I love them all from the bottom of my heart,” he said after the Saturday performance. “The only good thing that happened on that horrible night was that I was close to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital when the accident happened. God Bless them all.”
