#BBB NEWS| Nike Creates A Hijab That Caters To Muslim Women In Sports [PHOTO/VIDEO]

Nike has recently created a prototype hijab especially made for Muslim athletes, reports CNN Money.

The design will officially make its debut in Spring 2018. The head covering tilted “Nike Pro-Hijab” is made up of a single layer pull of lightweight polyester in dark colors. Additionally, the fabric will have tiny holes, a requirement for hijabs.

According to Nike, the hijab has already been tested out by Emirate figure skater Zahra Lari. “I was thrilled and a bit emotional to see Nike prototyping a Hijab,” Lari said in a statement. “I’ve tried so many different hijabs for performance, and … so few of them actually work for me. But once I put it on and took it for a spin on the ice, I was blown away by the fit and the light weight.”

The new initiative by the sports wear apparel couldn’t have come at a better time. Just last month, a controversial commercial debuted in the Arab world of women taking part in sports while challenging social norms.
