#BBB NEWS| Vin Diesel Announces ‘Furious 8′ Is Happening [PHOTO]

No shocker here: Furious 8 is happening. Actor Vin Diesel announced at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Thursday (April 23) that the Fast & Furious franchise would be rolling out yet another action-packed film, just weeks after Furious 7 dominated the box office, raking in $1 billion since its April 3 release date (a feat that only took the James Wan-directed film 17 days).

The movie’s worldwide success was tinged with sadness after one of the franchise’s leading men, Paul Walker, passed away in a fatal car crash in November 2013. Still, Furious 7 stars like Tyrese recently took to Instagram, mentioning that any follow-up would be made in Walker’s memory in his caption:

Vin paid homage to Walker (whom he affectionately calls “Pablo”) during Thursday’s presentation, saying, “I swear to you and to my brother upstairs [Paul Walker], we are going to make the best movie you’ve ever seen.”

Furious 8 will race into theaters on April 14, 2017.
