Director Luc Besson didn’t specify Rihanna’s role, but teased it was “a big part” on his Instagram account Wednesday. (October 28) Valerian is an adaption of Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres graphic novels, and take place in the 28th century when humans discover time travel.
Shooting for the film begins in two months in the outskirts of Paris. Besson, who directed Scarlett Johansson in 2014’s Lucy is working with a budget of $180 million.
No stranger to the big screen, Rih Rih lost her acting virginity in 2012’s Battleship and most recently lent her voice to Dreamworks Home.
Congrats to Rihanna!
