#BBB NEWS| Army Rescued 20 In Borno, Cleared Out Terrorist Enclaves In Rigaga Area

The Nigerian army has rescued 20 people during an offensive operation against Boko Haram which cleared out Boko Haram camps and killed some terrorists, a 7th Division Army spokesman Colonel IT Gusau said.

The spokesman issued a press release stating ''the troops of 103 Battalion under 21 Brigade early this morning conducted a 23 kilometer wide clearance operation in RIGAGA and its adjourning villages in BAMA Axis. The operation recorded a major success.  Four Boko Haram terrorist enclaves along the route of operations were cleared and a number of terrorists were killed, while two were captured alive and are currently undergoing interrogation in accordance with the Nigerian Army rules of engagement.''

The statement further said ''our troops also rescued twenty people held in captivity by the terrorists in the area. They include fourteen children and six women who are currently receiving medical treatment and other necessary attention in our facility.'' ‎

Similarly, the troops of 28th Task Force Brigade successfully dislodged Boko Haram from two villages and recovered some IEDs.

Mr. Gusau also stated that the morale and motivation of the troops was high.
