“If someone is paying for Tidal, we want that to be the best experience they can have,” said TIDAL’s Senior VP of Artist and Label Relations Tim Riley of the inclusion of television series.
Be on the lookout for Money & Violence, whose cast is pictured above with HOV. The drama, which got its start on YouTube, is set to premiere its second season in January. Centered around criminals in Brooklyn, the second season will only be available to the service for one week before wider distribution, so binge season one right now and season two when it debuts early next year.
Another TIDAL exclusive, No Small Talk, which highlights up-and-coming comedians, premieres today (Nov. 3). The latter is hosted by Cipha Sounds, according to The Verge.
“I didn’t want it to feel polished like the standup specials you see on TV,” Cipha said of the show’s five-episode arc. “My goal is to help new guys get known, like Def Comedy Jam set up a lot of people’s careers.”
Although Barclays Center in Brooklyn recently unveiled the new TIDAL Theater, the streaming service has had its fair share of ups and downs since becoming a public company this past April. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction.
