#BBB NEWS| Ugandan President Attacks ‘Partisan’ ICC

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, who is standing for re-election on Thursday, said he would be in favor of pulling out of the International Criminal Court citing its “partisan nature”.

Mr. Museveni made these comments on Saturday while participating in a televised debate for the first time.

“The ICC is not serious, it is partisan, it is not balanced, it is not very serious,” the Ugandan president said during the debate.

Mr. Museveni’s comments are hardly unique, many in Africa have accused the court of unfairly targeting Africans at the exclusion of war criminals from other parts of the world.

On Thursday Mr. Museveni will face seven challengers for the presidency, an office he has held since 1986.
