Blige and Isaacs got married in 2003, and Blige has listed irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. She has also reportedly asked the judge to block Isaacs’ ability to pursue alimony.
While the exact reasoning for this split currently remains unknown, there have been signals of trust issues coming from this now ex-couple in the past. Specifically, the No More Drama singer does not believe married people should have friends of the opposite sex.
“All females for me, all guys for him,” she told Stella Magazine back in 2014. “There’s none of that ‘Oh, that’s my female friend. Oh, that’s my guy friend.’ No. Not in a marriage, I’ve never seen that work.”
Isaacs’ opinion on the matter is unknown.
