#BBB NEWS| Beloved Comedian Charlie Murphy Dead At 57

Comic, writer, actor and big brother to Eddie Murphy, Charlie Murphy, has passed away on Wednesday morning (April 12), TMZ reports.

Murphy was 57-years-old. According to the outlet, Murphy lost his battle with leukemia while undergoing chemotherapy in a New York City hospital.

While his brother went on to be revered as one of comedy’s biggest stars, Charlie Murphy earned acclaim for his own work. Famously starring alongside Dave Chappelle in the classic Chappelle’s Show Rick James skit, Charlie Murphy also solidified himself as one of the entertainment industry’s most hilarious and respected comedians.

Murphy also co-starred in Are We There Yet? and the cult favorite The Boondocks, as well as toured with D.L. Hughley, Eddie Griffen, Cedric The Entertainer and George Lopez for The Comedy Get Down. In 2009, Murphy lost his wife, Tisha Taylor Murphy, to cervical cancer.

The couple now leaves behind two children, and Murphy has another child from a previous relationship.
