The Yeezus rapper announced he was running for office during a bizarre acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs as he collected the Video Vanguard prize.
Although it's not known how serious the revelation was, a lot of stars are speaking out in support of Kanye - and now an N.W.A hip-hop pioneer has joined that list, which includes singer Rihanna.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Ice Cube said: "I'm voting for Kanye, who is better than Kanye that would run?"
The Express Yourself star - whose career with N.W.A is being depicted in new biopic Straight Outta Compton - also pondered life in the US with President West and potential First Lady Kim Kardashian.
He added: "If that's what it is, that's what it is. No matter who is the president, you got to all get up and to go work in the morning."
Meanwhile, Donald Trump - who is campaigning himself ahead of next year's US election - has welcomed Kanye's announcement and hopes to face him in the future.
Talking to Rolling Stone, he said: "He's actually a different kind of person than people think. He's a nice guy... I hope to run against him someday."
Kanye dropped the huge bombshell as he took to the stage at the VMAs to accept his Michael Jackson Video Vanguard prize.
He said: "If my grandfather was here right now he would not let me back down! I don't know I'm fittin' to lose after this. It don't matter though, cuz it ain't about me.
"It's about ideas, bro. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president! (sic)"
