#BBB NEWS| Jay-Z And TIDAL Slammed With Lawsuit For Not Paying Royalties

Just days after reports surfaced that Samsung is in talks to purchase and take over Jay-Z’s music streaming service TIDAL, the company has been slammed with a $5 million lawsuit for allegedly not paying out royalties to artists.

First reported by TheJasmineBrand, Yesh Music, LLC and John Emanuele from the band the American Dollar are suing Hov and TIDAL.

According to the claim, TIDAL streamed 116 of the band’s songs and never paid royalties. In addition to that claim, the suit states, TIDAL used inaccurate numbers to make payments to artists, causing them to lose out on as much as 35 percent.

As we previously reportedly, TIDAL does not release streaming stats to the public, however according to the band’s suit, the artists are supposed to revive monthly statistics on royalty payments and usage of every song, but have yet to receive anything.

It’s been a rocky year for TIDAL and it looks like the trouble will continue. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you updated.
