#BBB NEWS| Ryan Coogler To Co-Write Screenplay For Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’

Fans eagerly awaiting Marvel’s release of the Black Panther have another reason to look forward to the movie. According to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, not only is Creed’s Ryan Coogler directing the motion picture, but the 29-year-old is also co-writing the film’s screenplay.

In an interview with Collider, Feige updated fans on the status of the film.
“We have a number of writers on it including Ryan Coogler, who is also directing,” he said.

The long-awaited movie, which Ava DuVernay was rumored to direct last year, is currently in its early stages as Coogler is in the process of drafting the script. Still, Feige said that more announcements in regards to the movie’s production will be coming soon.

“[Coogler]’s working on the draft right now. Between now and the end of the summer, there will be more casting announcements.”


Coogler, who also has writing credits on both Creed and Fruitvale Station, has had a busy very 2016. Aside from penning Marvel’s upcoming live-action movie, the California native is also working on Minors, a television drama based on his upbringing in Oakland.

Black Panther is scheduled to hit theaters on July 6, 2018.
