#BBB NEWS| Netflix & Univision Team Up To Create Drama Series About El Chapo

Netflix is listening to its audience and the nation’s obsession with Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman by joining forces with Univision to produce a drama all about the Mexican drug lord.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the drama El Chapo will be co-produced by Netflix and be a part of Univision’s original programming.

The series will air on UniMas in 2017 and to Netflix subscribers exclusively in the same year. The show will seemingly tell El Chapo’s come up and the formation of the Sinaloa Cartel. It will more than likely cover his drug wars in Juarez, Mexico, his growth in the U.S and his infamous escapes from prison.

Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos added, “We are thrilled to partner with the award-winning Univision Story House on the timely and globally relevant drama series based on the life story of El Chapo.”

In the end, it may not be the exact global exposure El Chapo wanted. It was previously reported that during his escape, he was putting together his plans to make a film about his life.
