#BBB NEWS| Bobby Shmurda Pleads Guilty To Murder Conspiracy, Will Serve Seven Years In Prison [PHOTO]

Bobby Shmurda’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, issued a statement on his client’s sentencing, writing that since he already spent two years in jail, he might be released within 3 1/2 years. Read the full statement below.

“Mr. Pollard pleads guilty to weapons related charges. His sentence of 7 years, with credit for 2 years already served and good time credit will hopefully permit him to be home in approximately 3 1/2 years and resume his remarkable career. This plea also covers any time that would have to be served under the Bronx indictment.”

It’s been nearly two years since Bobby Shmurda awaited his hearing for an arrest that included drugs and weapons charges, and today (Sept. 9), the Brooklyn native’s case has reached its climax.

According to TMZ, the “Computers” rapper pled guilty to murder conspiracy, and was ordered to serve seven years in prison and five years on probation.

In December 2014, Bobby was apprehended outside of a New York City studio alongside other members of GS9. Over the course of the previous years, two affiliates of that crew, Rashid Derissant and Alex “A-Rod” Crandon, were sentenced to a 98 year and 53 year sentence, respectively.

TMZ also reports that Bobby’s lawyer urged him to take the plea deal because of the jury’s leniency and he was reportedly facing life in prison. At the time of his imprisonment, Bobby’s career was on a rise with the chart topping hit “Shmoney Dance.” His case sparked outrage across the music scene, imploring rappers like Meek Mill to speak out on the justice system’s handling of his case.
