Now, a current presidential hopeful has also revealed that he is aware of West’s eyeing of the Oval Office. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Donald Trump – the Republican everyone loves to hate – said that he was tuning in to the rapper/producer’s Video Vanguard Award acceptance speech.
“I was actually watching, I saw him [announce his candidacy on the VMAs], and I said, ‘That’s very interesting. I wonder who gave him that idea?'” he said.
Surprisingly, Trump spoke highly of West, noting that Yeezy has said “very nice” and “extremely positive things” about him in the past. The controversial (and popular) candidate also expressed the hope to run against West, pending he wins, or remains relentless in his quest to become President of the United States.
“He’s actually a different kind of person than people think. He’s a nice guy,” Trump said. “I hope to run against him someday.”
