Eyeing a campaign in 2020, the outspoken rapper/producer/everything else ended his passionate address with a bomb and a mic drop.
“As you probably could’ve guessed by this moment I have decided in 2020 to run for president,” he said before exiting the stage.
Now, as the Web does what it does – creates memes, faux presidential posters, and proposes potential running mates – the possibility of a President West has become the subject of hashtags everywhere (see #KanyesCabinet). Word has even gotten around to the country’s administration.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that he is looking “forward to seeing what slogan he chooses to embroider on his campaign hat,” according to Billboard. And if the White House Press Secretary has heard the news, that likely means President Obama has as well.
And in related news, West has declared that if he wins, there will be free Yeezys for all. You know, in case you needed a reason to vote for him.
