#BBB NEWS| WATCH: Mayweather Preps To Face Andre Berto In His Final Fight On Showtime’s ‘All Access’ [PHOTOS/VIDEO]

In what will reportedly be Floyd Mayweather’s final bout, the fighter will face former WBC champion Andre Berto in an effort to secure a 49-0 record tie with the legendary Rocky Marciano.

Leading up to the Sept. 12 match, Mayweather and Berto’s preparations are being captured by Showtime’s All Access. Going behind-the-scenes as Mayweather eyes making boxing history, the show also gets into the mind and technique of Berto, the underdog.

Doing what he does best, Mayweather entertains as he takes the cameras onto his private jets and along for his shopping sprees. All Access also heads to his Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas, where he his final set of intensive training will take place. Before getting to the “hard work and dedication,” Mayweather offered a few words for his detractors and former opponents.

Looks like Instagram is no place for Jay Z. Mr. Carter made headlines last night (Aug. 29) when he did the unthinkable and created an Instagram page.

Snatching up the handle @HovSince96, the rap mogul made his debut with a birthday message to the late, great Michael Jackson, commemorating his life with a photo from their Summer Jam appearance in 2001.

In a caption that we all know now should have been taken very literally, Jay warned that his account might not be very active:

“Happy Birthday to the King! This may be my first and last post,” he wrote.

And indeed it was. Go for a search of Jay Z’s Instagram account today, and it will turn up this very disappointing result:

The ongoing probe of the immediate past administration by President Muhammadu Buhari is to beam its searchlight on the alleged purchase of three mobile stages, costing $6.9m, by former President Goodluck Jonathan and two of his officials, a Presidency source has said.

According to a document, which was obtained from the Presidency on Saturday, the deal, which is now a subject of investigation, was allegedly carried out by Jonathan; his Chief Security Officer, Mr. Gordon Obuah; and former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

The fund was said to have been withdrawn from one of the numerous accounts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

The $6.9m (about N1.37bn) was said to have been withdrawn for the purpose of buying three pieces of 40-feet mobile stages for use by Jonathan during mass public speaking events.

The move, according to SUNDAY PUNCH’s investigations, is part of a renewed effort by the agency to boost tax revenue to fund the programmes of the Federal Government.

Statistics obtained from the service revealed that out of the 450,000 companies in Nigeria, only 125,000, representing 27.7 per cent, pay any form of taxes.

Going by this figure, it implies that about 325,000 companies are evading tax, thus denying the government huge revenue annually.

In the 2015 fiscal year, the FIRS was given a revenue generation target of N4.5tn by the Federal Government and it has so far generated N2.667tn.

Judge Hassan Farid sentenced Egyptian-Canadian Mohamed Fahmy, Egyptian Baher Mohamed, and Australian Peter Greste after they were found guilty of “spreading false news” and accused of aiding the banned Muslim Brotherhood.

Mr. Greste was deported in February and was sentenced in absentia, while Mr. Fahmy and Mr. Mohamed were immediately taken into custody. The three were given longer prison terms during their original sentencing in July 2014, but a retrial was called for based on the lack of evidence.

Chris Brown can now add restaurant owner to his resume. The R&B singer revealed that he’s the head of not one, not two, but 14 Burger King establishments.

In an interview with Us Weekly, he didn’t divulge too much into this unknown fact, but who would’ve thought the Virginia-native would invest in a fast-food chain, which is pretty lucrative and smart.

A Lagos-based Cameroonian journalist, Simon Ateba, has been arrested by Cameroonian authorities as he investigated the conditions of Nigerian refugees camped in the country’s far north.

The Game is shaping up to drop his highly-anticipated album The Documentary 2, and it looks like this project was made with the fans in mind. Just from the look of his detailed Instagram post, it seems as if the Compton native’s fans served as the basis for his album.

The cover art was shot by world-renowned photographer Jonathan Mannion, who Game says captured his first album’s artwork. The “Hate It Or Love It” rapper went on to thank his fans for remaining true throughout his recording process. “To my true fans: it’s been really dope to have you ridin’ with me the last 10 years from the 1st Documentary til now…. Adebowale Ibidapo Adefuye, a historian who served as Nigeria’s ambassador to the United States, has died in Washington, DC, according to SaharaReporters.

Mr. Adefuye died at a yet to be disclosed hospital in the US, a source in the US told SR correspondent.

Mr. Adefuye was recalled to Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in as President. He was still waiting to hand over to a new ambassador when he suddenly died today.

A former professor of history, Mr. Adefuye was in 2010 appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan as Nigeria’s ambassador in the US. An outspoken person and fierce defender of Nigeria, the deceased diplomat tackled critics of Nigeria in the US. He vociferously lobbied against Nigeria’s classification as “a country of interest” in America’s terrorism watch list.

#BBB NEWS| Police IG, Solomon Arase, Moves To Remove Lamorde As EFCC Chair

The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has written to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission indicating his plan to recall all police officers who have so far served in the commission for five years, authoritative sources at the police headquarters in Abuja have told PREMIUM TIMES.

In a letter, with reference number CB/33/80/IGP.SEC/Abj/Vol.52/60, and dated July 14, 2015, Mr. Arase directed the EFCC to compile a list of all officers in the category, and forward to his office without delay.

Our sources said the directive, if implemented, would affect key leaders and investigators at the anti-graft agency – including the EFCC chairman – who has also spent more than five years at the commission.

Mr. Larmode has, cumulatively, spent 12 years at the EFCC.

He was appointed director of operations in 2003 under Nuhu Ribadu’s leadership of the agency. He was then made acting chairman in January 2008 after his boss’ controversial removal.

Khloe Kardashian threw a big birthday bash on a yacht for her new boyfriend James Harden who turned 26 years old.

According to US Magazine, The Houston Rockets shooting guard’s party on the Fantasea Yacht docked in Marina Del Rey, Calif., boasted more than 200 people, all of whom were instructed to wear white for the special occasion.

Usain Bolt has garnered yet another gold medal. Deemed the fastest man alive, Bolt dashed his way to first place during the 200m race at the 2015 World Athletics Championships in Beijing, China (Aug. 27).

According to CNN, the Jamaica-native reached the finish line in 19.55 seconds, defeating America’s Justin Gatlin who crossed the end in 19.74 seconds.

In an interview with BBC Sport, the 29-year-old decorated athlete said, “It’s great, a fourth [world title] win over 200m and it means a lot to me. I’m happy to be a 10-time World Championships gold medalist, especially when people have been saying I would lose.”

Eazy E’s daughter has already disputed how the hit biopic Straight Outta Compton portrayed her late dad. In particular, she questioned the scene in which Suge Knight beats E up.

In an exclusive interview with AllHipHop, Master P, the Nola mogul offered his opinion of the “Straight Outta Compton” movie, homing in on the Eazy-E character.

The mogul said that the movie could have done better with Eazy-E, who was the only member of N.W.A. with a criminal records and gang affiliation early on.

This is SO Sad!! A TV news reporter and cameraman were killed Wednesday morning in a shooting captured in a live broadcast, and the gunman remains at large, police said.

The scene of sudden shock and horror at a pedestrian plaza in Moneta, Va. was captured during a routine news story on WDBJ, a station in Roanoke.

In the video, reporter Alison Parker is interviewing a woman at Bridgewater Plaza about tourism in the area. As they talk, about seven shots ring out, as Parker and the woman scream and take cover.

The video then cuts to a stunned reporter in the WDBJ newsroom, who tries to quickly carry on with a broadcast.

N.W.A’s recent film Straight Outta Compton opened viewers’ eyes into the game-changing group’s rise to hall of fame status.

But one of the more emotional moments within the F. Gary Gray-directed reel, Eazy-E’s untimely death, reignited a sentimental chord within those who’ve watched the movie.

Now, Yung Eazy, the Compton native’s son, is speaking out on his father’s passing. In an extended Instagram post, Yung Eazy claims Suge Knight orchestrated his father’s death.

“I’ve been known my pops was killed. Chris Brown isn’t known for his decision making prowess. But his latest choice could rank as one of his strangest.

The N.W.A. bio pic 'Straight Outta Compton' has not only been shattering records in the box office but is also the cause of records being broken on the Billboard charts.

For the first time in N.W.A history, the self-proclaimed “World’s Most Dangerous Group” has reached a Top 100 Billboard chart spot. Following the success of the Straight Outta Compton biopic, the group’s 1988 hit, which shares the same name, hit No.38 as a Hot Shot Debut on the Billboard charts.

MTV announced on Tuesday that Kanye West will be the latest recipient of the Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs.

This year’s MTV Video Music Awards will include the presentation of their coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award to none other than Mr. West.

The network made the announcement via Twitter that Sunday night’s show (Aug. 30) will place Yeezy in the company of past recipients including The Beastie Boys, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce:

25-year-old Ghanaian graduate Nazir Nortei Alema is feared to have joined the terrorist group Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), according to the Daily Guide.

Nazir, a graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a degree in Geography and Rural Development, is feared to be one of 10 suspected Muslim youths from Ghana who have joined the terrorist group.

According to family sources, on August 2nd, soon after completing the mandatory National Service in Ghana, which he undertook at the Ghana Statistical Service, Mr. Alema sent a WhatsApp message to his family to the effect that he was traveling to another part of Ghana on a job-related assignment.

Nazir’s father Kabiru Alema said he later sent him another message to negate the earlier one.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has commenced an investigation into the operations of Arik Airlines after a member of its staff, air steward Chika Udensi, was arrested for possessing a 20 kilogram stash of cocaine that he had smuggled into Heathrow Airport in London.

On Tuesday, the NDLEA stated a “full scale”‎ investigation would unmask those behind the act.

The National Crime Agency of the United Kingdom notified the NDLEA of the arrest.

“We shall work closely with our international collaborators on the matter. Arik Airline will be sanctioned if found wanting,” Ahmadu Giade, the NDLEA Chairman, said.

Monday’s arrest would be the second time in two years a crew member of the airline would be arrested with substances suspected to be cocaine. In 2013, two crew members were arrested by the United Kingdom Border Force with a package of drugs with a street value estimated at £600,000 (about N190 million) inside a bus used to transport the air crew.

Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, says the National Peace Committee led by a former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, is only protecting the interest of the rich.

Falana, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said this during a live programme on Channels Television titled, ‘Sunrise Daily’.

Members of the peace committee, particularly the Bishop of the Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Matthew Kukah, had recently come under fire for faulting President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-graft war and the manner the President had castigated the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

However, Falana said the peace committee was only protecting the interest of the rich and not the poor. He wondered why the peace committee chose to only defend Jonathan and not others who were being tried for corruption across the country.

Women's sexuality is more "adaptive" than men's, psychologists have found. They are more likely to become bisexual if opportunities arise to explore same-sex relationships, says researchers.

Men, on the other hand, are more likely to stay on one side of the sexual fence or the other.

US scientists tracked 5,018 women and 4,191 men as they progressed from adolescence to young adulthood, questioning them about their sexual activity.

They found that women were three times more likely than men to change their sexual identities.

Women who were more educated, more physically attractive, and who avoided young motherhood were less likely to experiment with bisexuality.

Tracy Morgan has officially tied the knot with his longtime fiancee, Megan Wollover. The 46-year-old comedian wed his 26-year-old mate after crediting her for his recovery following the fatal car crash that claimed the life of his friend James McNair.

The “emotional” ceremony took place on Sunday (Aug. 23), People confirms. Wollover released a statement to the website on the nuptials.

“After almost losing Tracy last year, I am so grateful to finally be married to the love of my life,” Wollover said.

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the National Security Adviser to convene an investigative committee on the procurement of hardware and munitions in the Armed Forces from 2007 till now.

The investigative committee's mandate is to identify irregularities and make recommendations for streamlining the procurement process in the Armed Forces.

The husband and son of immediate past Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, are set to open a multi-million dollar hospital in the Gwarimpa area of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala’s husband, Ikemba Iweala, and their son, Uchechi Iweala, are teaming up to establish the Capital Health and Surgical Care Center in Abuja. Both men, who are medical doctors, will serve as chairman of the board and medical director respectively at the medical facility described as state of the art.

The hospital was originally to be formally opened last June by former President Goodluck Jonathan, on the assumption that he would be reelected. Mr. Jonathan’s defeat froze the idea.

Information available on the hospital’s website, http://www.chscnigeria.com/home/page?id=Press, states that the hospital “is conceived to improvetertiary-level healthcare delivery in Nigeria and Greater West Africa by providing top-rate service of international standard.” The hospital, which has been quietly under construction and development in the last three years, is equipped with 50 beds, three operating rooms, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and CT scan.
