The Fulton County Medical Examiner in charge of the postmortem reported that “no significant injuries were noted” and there was “no obvious underlying cause of death.” Additionally, no preexisting medical condition was found that could have contributed to her unconsciousness in the bathtub.
The findings could be significant news for the fallen heiress’ boyfriend Nick Gordon, who is under authorities’ microscope for his involvement with Bobbi Kristina’s death. TMZ reported that Gordon was subpoenaed medical records regarding drug testing, as he admitted that the two were using drugs prior to the incident and she “took too much.”
Gordon is currently gearing up for a possible murder trial following Kristina’s death on Sunday (July 26). After word spread of his alleged history of mental and physical abuse with the late Whitney Houston’s daughter, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation will work alongside Kristina’s best friend, Bess Beckman, to uncover any hidden details that could point to him.
Bedevil Hargrove, Bobbi Kristina’s conservator, supported the claims of abuse and also alleged that he stole $11,000 from her during her time in the coma. Though the cause of death field on her report still remains blank, Gordon has placed Jose Baez on his legal team roster, the notorious defense attorney widely known for his success with the Casey Anthony murder case.
The civil suit defense team also sees names such TJ Ward, who isa private investigator named for his work in the Natalie Holloway case. Depending on the charges seeked by the District Attorney, Gordon could face a murder charge following young Bobbi Kristina’s passing.
The medical examiner will not release the cause of death until records have been thoroughly reviewed.
