President Barack Obama made his fourth trip to his father’s homeland of Kenya, Africa a memorable one.

During his stay, he reunited with three-dozen family members, ABC News reports. Obama’s trip marked him as the first sitting president to travel to the country, including his visit to Ethiopia the same week.

The leader of the free world met with his step-grandmother, Mama Sarah (pictured on the left up top), and his half-sister Auma Obama (pictured on the right). “I am proud to be the first U.S. president to visit Kenya. Obviously, it is personal for me,” he said. “It’s the reason why my name is Barack Hussein Obama. My father came from these parts, I have family and relatives here.”

Part of the reason for Obama’s Kenyan visit was to promote thriving businesses throughout the country. “This continent needs to be a future hub of global growth and not just African growth. Kenya is leading the way,” he said. USA Today reports the U.S. and its banks will also assign $1 billion to support women and children.
