According to Deadline, the diversified electronics and entertainment chain clinched on a rights deal during an auction that also included bidders from Warner Bros. and Paramount.
Writer/director Anthony Leondis stands behind the movie’s idea and creation and will also co-write the production. Depending on how it plays out, the big screen flick should also fatten some big pockets for the team, as the deal is reported to be valued near seven figures.
Eric Siegel is the other co-writer for the project with production by Michelle Raimo Kouyate. Leondis has also served as animated film direction mastermind behind Dreamworks Pictures’ historical Prince of Egypt and Disney favorites such as the The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride.
No details of the start or release date for the film has been announced, but we definitely have our keyboards on standby until word drops.
