#BBB NEWS| Bill Cosby Shares Statement Following Sexual Assault Charges [TWEET]

Bill Cosby utilized his social media platform to share a few words concerning sexual assault charges.

The news broke earlier this week that a former Temple University employee named Andrea Constand claimed the 78-year-old drugged and sexually assaulted her at his home in Pennsylvania in 2004.

Cosby was later arraigned and charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault, and was ordered to turn over his passport.

Now, the famed comedian/actor shared his first words after the week-long court case occurred. On Twitter, he simply wrote, “Friends and fans, Thank You.”

Cosby’s first criminal case will continue on Jan. 14 for a preliminary hearing. If he’s found guilty, he’ll serve up to 10 years in jail.

His attorney, Monique Pressley, held one of her first interviews following the ruling with NBC TODAY, and stated Cosby will be “exonerated by a court of law.”

“If you look at the deposition you will see that there is no admission of criminal wrongdoing with respect to Mr. Cosby,”
Pressley said.
