Yesterday, the International Basketball Federation announced that he will be inducted into their Hall Of Fame as well.
MJ the Goat! It is not too surprising that Mike will be inducted into the FIBA Hall Of Fame, it is just somewhat surprising that it took so much time for the federation to consider him. Michael Jordan was not only a successful player in the national league, but he was also a force internationally as well.
MJ played on team USA winning Olympic gold medals at Los Angeles in 1984 and then again in Barcelona in 1992. FIBA will be inducting MJ, along with 9 others, on September 19th.
The other inductees include Sarunas Marciulionis of Lithuania, Anne Donovan of the USA, Vladimir Tkachenko of Russia, Ruperto Herrera Tabio of Cuba, Antoine Rigaudeau of France, coach Jan Stirling of Australia, technical official Robert Blanchard of France, and contributor Noah Klieger of Israel.
FIBA plans on honoring this year’s class at the Eurobasket Championship game following their September 19th enshrinement.
