#BBB NEWS| Bill Cosby Sues Beverly Johnson For Defamation

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that Bill Cosby planned to sue seven women who’ve claimed that the actor/comedian drugged and sexually assaulted them. Now, Cosby is also suing supermodel Beverly Johnson for defamation.

Cosby’s lawsuit states, “[Johnson’s] false allegations against Mr. Cosby have been the centerpiece of her attempted resurgence and she has played them to the hilt, repeatedly and maliciously publishing the false accusations in articles, interviews, and television appearances,” per the Associated Press.

Johnson was one of the more than 50 women who came forward to shed light on Cosby’s reported past, revealing that he drugged and attempted to sexually assault her in the 1980s.

In a statement issued to the Huffington Post, Johnson revealed, “I am aware of the statements from Bill Cosby. In cases of rape and abuse, abusers will do whatever they can to intimidate and weaken their victims to force them to stop fighting. I ask for your support of all of the victims involved. Thank you.”

A criminal investigation against Cosby is currently ongoing, ABC News reports.
