Frank Sinatra Jr’s longtime manager Andrea Kauffman said Sinatra died at Daytona Beach, Florida, hospital. Sinatra’s sister, Nancy, who also has a musical career, took to her Facebook page to share the news with fans.
“Sleep warm, Frankie…” Nancy wrote.
Sinatra followed in his father’s enormous footsteps and began touring with him when he was 19 years old. It’s reported in 1963, Sinatra Jr was kidnapped by three men, and by the third day, two men received a $240,000 ransom paid by his father for his son’s safe return, and it was the third kidnapper who let him go unharmed. Days later, that kidnapper confessed to his brother who then called the FBI. All three were caught within hours and later convicted.
Frank Sinatra, better known as ‘Old Blue Eyes, died in 1998 of a heart attack. He was 82. In December, John Legend, Usher, Alicia Keys Lady Gaga and more all honored the iconic singer for what would’ve been his 100th birthday with the Sinatra 100: An All Star Grammy Special.
Sinatra Jr is survived by his sisters Nancy and Tina, and his son, Michael.
