#BBB NEWS| Eminem, Vince Staples, Jhene Aiko & Meek Mill Among Contenders For Oscar’s Best Original Song Nom

It looks like 2016 might start off on a high note for a few artists. The Hollywood Reporter revealed the list of contenders for the Academy Awards’ Best Original Song roster, which lists some of hip hop and R&B’s brightest.

Listing 74 songs from films released in 2015 include Eminem, Meek Mill and Vince Staples.

Em contributed to Southpaw’s soundtrack with “Phenomenal,” Meek recorded “Fighting Stronger” alongside Jhene Aiko, while Vince Staples, Childish Gambino and Aiko might make the cut with “Waiting For My Moment.” The two aforementioned tracks were both featured in Creed.

From the motion picture Chi-Raq, Nick Cannon’s name appeared for “Pray 4 My City.” The chart-topping and record-breaking melody, “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, was also named on the list.

The official nomination ballot will be revealed closer to the date of the 88th Academy Awards, set to premiere on Feb. 28.
