Hotlzclaw, who turned 29 today, targeted women who were arrested for drug and prostitution. The all-white jury deliberated for four days before reaching the verdict.
The ex-Oklahoma City cop’s lawyers argued the victims, all of which who testified in court, were less than credible and went as far as referring to them as less then “perfect victims.”
The prosecution said Holtzclaw, a former college football star, targeted women he assumed wouldn’t notify the police and used his badge to his advantage.
According to the New York Daily News, the bevy of charges leveled against Holtzclaw include first-degree rape, indecent exposure, stalking, as he would go back to his victims homes and terrorize them, sexual battery and forcible oral sodomy and burglary.
During the livestream of the verdict, Holtzclaw was seen visibly shaken and then sobbing at the reading of the 18 guilty verdicts.
